Okay, So it seems your parents let you have your computer back. It doesnt look like time out was a good enough or a long enough punishment for you. Shame….it seems pretty hopeless for some of the worlds young people today.
Ill give you a flower today anyways…you deserve some good in your life.
What does covid have anything to do with the price of tea in china. We were telling each other to fly safe and giving a o7 back in 08 when i joined the game.
Do you realize you were so eager to make a point you accidentally proved mine.
Just because I said one ■■■■■■■■, you assumed you only reproduce what you were taught…
kewk.
I’m as old as I was an adult when I first joined EVE and reprocessing was perfect without penalty.
Let me elaborate more, since I don’t want to keep posting. It’s a pirate game, the dude just jumped the gate with 20+ alts, all kinds of shenanigans are allowed, wtf fly safe ever means? Nothing, a decent EVE player will take any advantage, any time, anywhere, safe is the worst concept in EVE, probably the worst idea conceived, there’s no safe, it’s all about chance and opportunity AND PREPARATION. (having an alt scouting both sides of the gate wins pvp)
Just fly and have fun. If the dude is having fun jumping his 24 alts, so be it, he for sure is not flying safe with his criminal status coming back in a capsule. lol.
I’m just saying for the sake of the post, “fly safe” is idiotic, but keep repeating if it makes you happy.
What?! LOL! People were saying “fly safe” back in 2010 when I started playing this game. That’s a decade before covid. A decade is 10 years. You must have started drinking early- or you’re still going from last night in which case, I salute you!
We went from “stop updating like you do” to “saying to fly safe is idiotic.”
Im totally blown away right now on what his new alt that he made two days ago is trying to do here. I mean im really at a loss of words right now. Im still trying to figure out the “covid era.”
Its been proven many times that getting angry robs you of good logic. The OP and his other personalities are a fine example of this.
I usually say “Fly dangerously”. It’s just a ship after all. They’re pretty easy and cheap to replace. (Sub caps anyway). If I lose a ship, I learn from it and move on. My only hope is that I make it a spectacular death.
Flying safely is boring. Every now and then, you have to get blown up or blow someone else up.
Let’s bring this thread to a lighter note. Too much negativity here. Let’s window shop!
I hope to get one of these soon. I have a 4 HDD RAID right now and I’d love to speed it up! I also have an M.2 for my primary drive, but still- HDDs are slow.
I’d put it on the budget soon, but my GPU is dying- which is weird because it’s the newest component in my computer. So I get to replace that now. So no multiboxing in EVE until I get that replaced.
Just be aware you’re going to need a motherboard that supports PCIe bifurcation. On most consumer boards only the first slot can do this, and that’s generally the slot you’d install a GPU in. If you’re not sure, make sure to ask ChatGPT (in extended thinking mode) whether this card will be compatible with the rest of your computer. It’s pretty good at reading spec sheets.
Yeah, the topmost slot on that board will support installing four M.2 SSDs in that expansion board you posted. The second slot will only support two M.2s, because while it’s physically an x16 slot, it’s only wired up to x8. An M.2 SSD uses x4 lanes each. And there’s no mention in that spec sheet nor the manual (https://download-2.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/E7B51v1.2.pdf) on whether or not the second slot supports bifurcation at all, so you may only be able to install a single M.2 in that slot.
If you’re dead set on this, you’ll need to install your M.2 card in the top slot and go into BIOS to set that slot into x4/x4/x4/x4 mode, and install your GPU in the second slot. For gaming performance, this is not something I would recommend, as the second slot is connected to the CPU via the motherboard chip, which is restricted to x4 lanes. Your graphics card would be connected at one quarter its current bandwidth, which it is going to share with your motherboard M.2 slots, motherboard SATA slots, motherboard peripherals like audio and USB, etc. This link will also suffer increased latency. It may perform just fine, but most likely there will be some performance degradation.
If you want my recommendation, I’d skip this particular upgrade, and instead save up to upgrade to an AM5 motherboard. AMD Ryzen CPUs have more lanes available, connected directly to the CPU (better performance), and you can get motherboards with three M.2 slots directly on the board for relatively cheap. This one for example has four slots built in. Asus PRIME X870-P WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard (PRIME X870-P WIFI) - PCPartPicker
If you’re currently running this computer entirely off 4 HDDs in RAID0, installing even a single M.2 SSD to run your operating system and the most frequently played games off of will still be a huge performance boost. That’s the cheap option. M.2, even older PCIe3 devices your motherboard would support, are massively faster than HDDs in every respect, even if your HDDs are running in RAID0.
