Hey, CCP. i know what your doing and i dont think its going to work

Well at least they were accurate words, unlike yours.

So in that regard, they did add more.

again. no. its the games choice. there is no fit that is “almost as good as” its ether is or isent.

Its kinda like the middle-aged wow days, where they introduced the stat “resilience”…
that type of thinking just snowballed wow into “class nerfs/buffs” every f ing patch…
to a point where the game was unplayable.

today wow does not different between pve and pvp gear, and even thou shadowlands expansions “just” hit … the class changes have been un-notcible in comparioson.
its now a game that intermix pve and pvp, and you can enjoy both, and your gear itemization grows in both regards as you develop your charachter.

Are you telling me there’s just one possible PvE fit for ships? Or one PvP fit?

really this is just the same question just a littlebit diffrent… just read the last posts…

there is multiple pve fits, and multiple pvp fits.
there is no fit that is “good” (or decent) at doing a little bit of pve and a little bit of pvp.
(only exception is explo which favours pvp fit, and to some extent wh/incursion npc that deal Omni damage)
for regular space there is; pve-fit, pvp-fit and bait-fit (another pvpfit).
And then what you describing someone would call “a sh!t fit”

I can tell you dont fly Sacrileges

i dont… but… sacrilages in pve… its only for abyssal darksites?
that dark-fit would not hold for a gang waiting at the exit…?

Eh? if it can do Abyssal it can walk Escalations

Which it does pretty well.

Infact, Im pressed to think of a PvE situation bar incusions it doesnt at least stand a chance in.

Why would it be only for Abyssal?

so… what escalation fit can you also pvp in?

The Sac has a slot layout that means its tank and spank go in the low slots, and you can Prop and Web and Scram in your mid slots with space to spare.

Top slots are all guns bar your Neut or NOS

Seriously, check its layout

yes, there is nothing special here… 1 free top slot for a nos/neut… or drone link …
5 low slot, either for max tank or for some tank and some dps.
4 mids… either for damage application as mgc or web… or points/cap booster

i see the possibilty for 2 different fits, if i was to mix and match for both, im not playing this game right? - a t1 cruiser fitted for either pve or pvp would do alot better, for half the price

That wasnt the question. You said there was no ship that could do both. There are plenty of ships that can do both.

There’s no question a ship geared to one or the other would be more efficent.

Provided your efficency isnt including people coming into your PvE situation and attacking you.

Though TBH, what T1 cruiser would do a better job, out of curiosity?

yes, another example is when a PVP ship also fit a miner laser. because… you know, efficiency is not that important after all.

That what you did there is a definitive strawman.

But if they made mining lasers do targeted damage to ship modules, then there would be nothing wrong with that.

Why on earth would you put a Drone Link on a Sac?

someone else said it in this thread, not me. and no.
its a fairness point, why should PvE players adapt to PVP players - but PVP players don’t?

its for PvE, also nice that target range = drone range. and kinda nice to be able to send drones out further than missiles for abyssal NPC that tries to kite, as well as to shoot the far away loot structures. there isent time to fly into range cus then you die.
also… there is no other useful pve mod to put there.

anyways, I’m not gonna discuss this anymore…
there are a million different nuances to the same question, that I honestly think all have the same answer.
No, this game does not “support” PvE players to fit PVP mods.

And with the current changes, the pilots flying the expensive ship is most likley the pve-player.
ccp indirectly and directly nerf all pve gameplay.
and as stated here, by you amongst others…
PvE players should be forced to minimize isk/hr, just to MAYBE save the really expensive pve-ship.

ccp force people to fly pvp ships?
or rather I should ask…
ccp force people that want to have fun, to fly pvp ships?

conclusion is this;
PvE is dead, long live pvp
…until the current pvp crowd realise there is no ez dunks left, then pvp is also dead… now eve is dead.
congratulations ccp.

I dont understand what this has to do with a ship being viable for both PvE and PvP

Why would you need your drones to go further than 58km when your engage range is 15-30km? And I havent used them in Abyssals, so Ill pass on that.

Salvager is good. Probe Launcher is better.

And yet I do it on Sacs.

Wierd that, I must be a hacker.

Based on what?

OK well then you can leave and Ill have the PvE loot then I guess vOv

at some point in this thread someone pointed out that “if pve is so fun why does it matter what your isk/hr is” …

and talking to you and reading others, i’ve come to relise that, no some aspects of pve is not fun, it is indeed a boring grind.
But that grind makes me develop in this game on so many levels, for this, i think pve is “fun” and “worth my time”.

it will however not be worthy of my time, when i start to cross fit my ship to handle pvp and pve content at the same time, as the content is so far apart.
I think im better off having 2 different fittings. That will be more fun per hour.

and i suspect im not alone in thinking this way, thats why i draw the conclusen that… yeah… ccp wants us in pvp ships, but they misread why people are in pvp ship…
ccp has made a roadmap to death.

Smart PvP players adapt to PvE too.

Example: When you want to kill a ratter in a certain region of space in your bomber, you better bring the right bomber that has a bonus to the damage type the rats in the area don’t deal. That means the PvE ships (unless they adapted to your strategy) will have severe resistance holes to your damage.

I still think your first mistake is thinking that a ship has its role set in stone.

Youd probably hate my Salvaging Praxis

It seems so difficult for some but you either accept this mutual exclusivity or you’re no where near as good at pvp as you think you are.

And all the different options in between.

Have you ever created your own ship fits for PvP and PvE? If you did, you would know that there is nothing in the ship fitting window that says ‘PvE fit’ or ‘PvP fit’.

I created a fun PvE fit yesterday that could easily be used for PvP too. Polarised torpedo bomber with maximum damage and application, zero tank. Shreds havens at similar speed as my Ishtar, while I could drop the exact same fit on my next blops run. Nothing about that fit says ‘this is a PvX fit, cannot use it for something else’, that distiction is purely our interpretation of the fit.
