Hey, CCP. i know what your doing and i dont think its going to work

You were going around the forums bragging about how you have me blocked and begging others to do the same. Why are you replying to me? lmao

Must be some sort of new solo I ve not heard of

Solo is 1 v 0

It’s actually quite hard to get your kill marked solo on zkill, all it takes is one action from another player within 15 mins and it ends up not being classed as such. This will have effected your numbers.

Examples of how this can happen:

  • you dive into a plex and fight, in the last seconds of the fight a third player enters and puts a warp Disruptor on your target, you get the kill - not solo on zkill.
  • you get a 1v1 and win. The other player had survived a fight within the previous 15 minutes. Not solo on zkill.

These things happen all the time.

With what you are suggesting I would either quit Eve, or take up killing inexperienced titan pilots out of spite and belligerence.
Most likely the first. I didn’t sign up for that crap, I want to earn my keep in Eve inside Eve, I have no problem paying real world money for my accounts, but I will never ever buy an advantage over other players. To do so defeats the purpose of Eve completely in my opinion and changes it from a place where people learn to play by playing, to a place where the person with the most real world cash has the best stuff.
Screw that.
What I would consider paying real world money for is cosmetic stuff, things that have no impact on game play at all, but just woke me to play with how my characters and while and stuff look. I don’t like almost any of them as it stands right now and wouldn’t waste anything, time or money on them. If they were improved I would.
The changes I’ve seen over the last year are leading me to look at other games and while I’m not finding much I do realize that if Eve starts leaning towards pay to win/advance I’m going to have a hell of a lot more free time on my hands, and a fairly good chunk of cash to do something else with.
The so called expert systems in my opinion are a disgusting way of extracting money from new players who are still going to quit when they discover that the UI is more complicated than that of the computer they are playing on and that they still die before they even realize they are in a fight.

Something in EVE can “happen all the time” and still be a minor statistical outlier.

The game I love is in the control of hostile hands.

I solo herons in my cloaky astero all the time. Good solo fights are out there if you work to find them.

I have but this is an interesting subject so I’m actually checking the hidden replies, just to see if there’s something of worth there.

Turns out there isn’t.

I mostly agree with your feels, so I left them out…
also lol, fyi. i made a topic some time ago saying eve ui is in dire need of a facelift.
anyways me to.
My first goal in eve was to become self-sustanable isk wise - so i could omega for free.

it started with belt ratting in a catalyst… now i can capital rat with a carrier…

but the changes… its just a matter of time until ccp have gone around with the nerfbats on all isk activites.

And all we are left with is this payMore2play+pay2win system they are fully endorsing…
CCP dont realise all 3 ways need to be open.

  • self sustainability (eg. capital ratting)
  • pay2play (omega)
  • pay2win (expert systems).

let’s also remember that the majority of capitals have been nerfed, so they cant apply damage to subcap ships.
titans are the worst, they are just expensive semi-portable jump bridges, that you undock for swag and big fleet pvp

since titan pilots are sold on character bazaar, it doesn’t matter if a player pays the “rent fee” for a 7 days trial aka. “expert systems” or make the full plunge into buying XXXX amount of plex, trade for isk then trade an SP-farmer… tbh, an expert system for a titan is better for the game then character Bazar

I think expert systems are good for the game, good for the players, and good for ccp… as it is a recurring trial period that inject money straight to the game developers.

People can try stuff without having to inject or eject skill points, buy skillbooks, have a deep knowledge what skill is best to train first etc etc… its very casual, and most players enjoy casual.

well… it would be interested to know what zkillboard counts as “solo”
Solo - “done by one person alone; unaccompanied.”

so i guess solo can mean both 1 Vs many, 1 vs 1, or… pve? xD

Sure, but then it’s not the honorable 1vs1 type of gameplay… and even if its the case that zkill dont register all the solo stuff… we all know 1vs1, honorable “lets duke it out at the sun” pvp isnt happening at a large scale in eve…
Since the very foundation off eve-pvp is either about taking advantage of others lack of knowledge/skills/ships OR +1 in a f1-monkey squad ( with a better fc, aswell.)

Ls plex fighting tends to be consensual, you have time to warp away if you don’t want to take the fight. Although there are always bait traps or ships trying to hold you while their mates catch up. The classic destroyer in the medium with half a Corp cloaked up is a fine ls tradition.

Even so a lot of the 1v1s don’t register on zkill as solo.

Zkill does not count npcs on kills. 1 player + npc is a solo kill

that makes me think of faction warfare as well… isn’t that also consensual pvp, but perhaps more towards “small” gang-style?

yeah i know npc only killmails dont show up, my point was alot of the “solo” zkills are in fact not fair nor solo-fights… its alot of unfair ganks and/or faction police game mechanics manipulations.
its just the way it is.

No they don’t. Farming to get ISK for PLEX is the endless cycle of menial grinding for the privilege of menial grinding next month, leading boredom and quitting the game instead of spending in-game time having fun. It only “works” because nullsec ISK faucets have been so absurdly generous that even casual players can get enough ISK for PLEX without sacrificing too much time. But that “success” comes at an unacceptable cost to the overall economy.

Pay to win is for people who suck at EVE and suck at life and should never have been introduced. Remove injectors, remove pay to win skill rental, remove character transfers, remove PLEX, and impose strict two factor authentication tied to IRL identity to prevent illegal character sales. If you want something in the game you can play the game and achieve it, not just pull out your credit card and declare yourself a winner.

relax there comrade… the soviet union is strong with you…
the privlege is to build your skillpoints over time, to enjoy more stuff ingame.

its an endless cycle, perhaps… but so is all of life. we can go down this melancholy path, but i dont want to get depressed, i just want to enjoy the game.

Communism = everyone is entitled to lots of SP regardless of their in-game activities.

Capitalism = you get what you earn in-game, nothing more.

EVE is supposed to be capitalism, do not let it fall into communism and failure.

It’s the capitalism part where games introduce p2w and where customers flash their CC.

I sure have, at the start. Not going to wait 6 months to get anywhere decent.

P2W rewards low-skill players who suck at EVE and tries to make everyone equal in-game. It is communism, and stands in direct opposition to the capitalist principle that success is earned and failure is always an option.

I believe they want to get to the point where loss matters much more than it does at the moment. Think how much more exciting it would be to get a titan kill when only 5 die a year, rather than 300 in a day.

Although I hope that the cost of the smaller t1 stuff does not rise any further.

Capitalism vs communism for skill points? Really? This is far fetched even by Eve Forum standards.
