Btw if I recall correctly CONCORD is only so invincible against capsuleers but not others because Jovians provided them with the access codes to capsuleer technology, thecnically they can hijack capsules (which is Jovian tech made available by them to help them fight the Jovian disease or something) thus CONCORD is not all-powerful against non-capsuleer entities, so even if they wanted to couldn’t really stand as strong against other NPCs. At least according to the lore… if I recall correctly.
I was wondering about that dues ex mechima mechanism and where it spawned from.
If you’re curious about the lore reasons behind why concord is passive against NPC,
The folks over at Lore discussion are an excellent resource.
Pop the question there and they will give you all the exposition you could ever what on the topic, and others.
To be fair you don’t really get a warning for C729 candidate systems. They’re not the same as TMVs, as C729 candidates are systems that (were) three jumps away from a now-Pochven system. I very sadly lost a geddon to one of those that I’d got from someone putting it up on the hypernet for 10 isk per node.
But TMV systems do give you fair warning. If OP was around for CCP introducing diamond rats it should have been a fair assumption that that’s how they do new NPC enemies now.
No…you misunderstood. The shuttles in cargo are for taking to some station on the route that doesn’t have shuttles available, and leaving them there. That is why it is handy that the Praxis can hold two ( packaged )…which reduces the number of trips needed to set them up. So, anyone who only has one account can leave a shuttle at the system before a Trig system or before a lowsec gate…and can park their hauler or whatever there and use the shuttle to check the next system. Simple, and really doesn’t take long at all.
Obviously with dual boxing it is even simpler and faster.
Concord is a corrupt ‘police’ force…all part of the dark, dystopian universe of lore. That is why Concord can be bribed to look the other way for wardecs, for example. The ‘fee’ for a war is essentially a bribe. They are not some knight in shining armor police force there to rescue people…they are more of a corrupt business that deals retribution…when they feel like it.
Kinda highlights that we live in a somewhat dark, dystopian world, doesn’t it? When you think about the four races, they represent four dark facets of human culture in an oversimplified way…
Religious zealots determined to enforce rules and the status quo while enslaving others for their own comfort and profit.
Freedom lovers who are so overly passionate that instead of enjoying their own freedoms, they focus on fighting against the oppressors in a forever war they can never win.
Capitalistic greed-mongers who charge you to go to the bathroom or get a drink of water.
Hedonistic, pleasure-seeking, entitled people lashing out at any hint of slowing their roll due to other people’s values, money-making schemes, and encouraging constant chaos and fights while they at home lounge about.
Concord is here to keep us in check, and we need some way to legally fight other capsules , shame the wardec sys isn’t working as intended. I can’t see how they are corrupt or take bribes
To fix your security status as well.
With enough isk, and clone soldier tags you can go from -10 to 0 in the span of a button click.
The ‘fee’ for a war dec is essentially a bribe for Concord to look the other way. Likewise as Ax’l said, you can bribe Concord with clone tags…to raise your security status. Although Concord was set up by the 4 main races, it is now completely independent and is more akin to a punitive Mafia than to any sort of ‘police force’.
Yup.
Lore wise, and reflected in the security status bribe mechanic, CONCORD, is a very shady organization.
Working as CCP intended.
How about you notice that Eve University even says wardec fees are a bribe.
Because it has way more authority ( having existed since 2004 ) than some 1 day old Joe Bloggs who is wrong but doesn’t want to admit it. To claim that you know more about the game than Eve University when your character has only been in the game one day does sort of take the biscuit…lol.
Ah…you must be one of those ’ I have proven Einstein wrong’ people who submit word salad to learned journals and think there’s a conspiracy to thwart their epic new theory when the editor bins it.
That’s not logical.
According to the Lore, it is.
Or are you one of those people that can’t delineate the lore and roleplay aspect of the game from the game mechanics?
Logic. Not your strong suite is it?
We’re discussing the lore terminology within the EvE universe. Not sure where you got “war” from all that.
But some people are just desperate to make straw-man, even if it’s one that’s way out in left field.
Yup.
According to the Lore, you’re bribing Concord to look the other way when going to war with another corp.
Why is this such a difficult concept for you to understand?
Let me get you a good starting point for your adventure into self discovery of EvE’s rich, and mostly incomplete Lore.
Starting with the beginning. Where Concord was born.
I’m excited that you’re genuinely interested in this. A lot of mainstream players are not.
Now, time for you to dive into that rabbit hole!
No. I say that as tongue in cheek with my fellow roleplayers. A lot of lore, has been left…. Hanging. From the faction empires, to the drifters, to the Trigs. To many aspects actually. But when you read it, you can connect the dots for yourself.
As in, Concord is a sketchy organization. There is a lot of lore on that. Then add in that they can be bribed to fix your security status. And since Concord polices capsuleer aggression in highsec, and the fact that one can pay them off to, look the other way, for an inter-corporate skuffles, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see just how corrupt they are.
