But what if CCP was really stupid… and just randomly added those different timers? It must be emergent behaviour! /s
But seriously, I know, especially if Concord was added with those timers there is no way CCP did not expect suicide ganks. Just wondering, were those timers always variable based on security rating since the intoduction of CONCORD, or where they made variable later on? I wasn’t here yet at the time.
If CONCORD was added with variable response timers, the chance it is emergent behaviour is 0.
But even if the timers weren’t based on security rating, you can’t expect me to believe that some people at CCP wouldn’t have seen suicide ganks coming when adding CONCORD.
If I remember correctly, they were variable when I first started ganking, which was around 2007-2008 or so, but the extent to which they were variable differed from today. I believe the spread was smaller, with higher-sec systems having longer response times than today. Not sure about earlier.
“Boomeranging” was patched out recently, actually, like around 2014-ish or so. But even before then, it was verbally deemed an exploit - you were obligated to lose your ganking ship.
Herr Wilkus still lost his ship to Concord, it was that he could volley a target and warp to the next while reloading and let loose another volley while waiting for them to drop the doughnuts and catch up to him. According his explanation he could be in, kill something, and back into warp within 7 seconds. IRRC they patched it out by removing the ability to warp under the gcc timer.
Like totally safe and seperate server… they can mine and do pve as much as they want … only high sec … awsome way to get rid of carebear mindset and adress for them … hust one condition . Noone will buy their stuff else than each other.
Pvp mindset people can also mine and do other pve stuff without complain about pvp …
They wont, they are not even capable to orient their new player base, more over they dont want them to know and learn… told you as person why has banned fromm rookie help because of enlightened new players about this nature of game and rookies didnt like it and went toxic on me like its me created this…
No pvp respects where ships come from…also pvp ers can mine and do pvp and doesnt moan for losses… carebears cant do pvp… pve has no respect … CCP not stupid to give you what you want …they know what pvp player base capable of. Also,
Tongue in cheek idea, but how about keeping everything the same as it is now except have all drops from industrials and mining ships reduced to zero? People can still PvP away, but when doing it against miners and cargo haulers, they have to finance their efforts through activities like either paying money for PLEX ( win for CCP), mining (their turn as a target), market PvP, ratting or mission running( again their turn as potential target).
Any warship hull drops loot as normal, so the preference would likely drift toward warship to warship action to help finance further PvP.
Hey, no stranger than some of the ideas floated in this thread.
Not just piracy but trig was a stupid idea. I believe the Korean company that bought CCP is forcing them to create more ship loss situations. Because of course every loss of property is a negative intangible asset swap. And creates wealth for them.
