But this would have an effect on the other ships that get ganked.
My idea would also mean that the gankers wouldn’t need to waste time “pulling” and pre-spawning CONCORD… and half the time they would have more time on target…
CONCORD can fly off after they have saved the day/revenged the gank… and the gates don’t need to be CONCORD spammed into super lagginess… so my freighter can fly on through without problems.
You see, this is why people say you are ridiculous. There is no such thing as half the time. You either have dps to kill ■■■■ before concord comes or you don’t even bother ganking that target. If concord is going to come half the time later and half the time sooner the shorter time is going to be assumed - at all times. Mistakes in judgment happen but in general all you will see is more emphasis on alpha strike. And once you have pure alpha strike fleets as go to no one will even bother pulling concord… for there is no reason to. And this will be a point at which nothing can safe freighters…
I do not think so. There are enough people flying around ganking that take chances. That would be the little guys that don’t have access to large multi-box fleets.
If the gankers have done their homework nothing can save the freighter now.
But ganking and concord are not just about freighters… and alpha tornados vs mining ships is not cost-effective so that the solution will have to be different.
Maybe you don’t know it but gankers tend to cooperate to get the targets - especially when more isk rich targets require more dps. The end effect is not much different from multibox fleet. Loot tends to be distributed equally (in isk value) among participants + scout. And occasional 1B mining ships pays for a whole lot of ganks…
HAHAHAHAHAH… there are 1B ventures, 2B macks/hulks… all that will happen is just tighter selection of targets.
Someone said that they would just assume the minimum time, and bring that many Catalysts. That was a known multi-boxer. Someone said they might then think about going after the skiffs in the ice belts, if they at least have a chance (someone else complained that the AFK skiff fleets have been replaced by Orcas… but that is another theme). There was some noise about RNG from someone that wants everything to run mathematically.
The responses to the problem are as varied as the people responding.
I already said what will happen… changing to the needs is what gankers do… I know - I have done some ganking msyelf and have been advocate of dropping sebo for prop mod on catas. Which is becoming now standard (helps deal with krabs, they tend to move so need to have a way to get into gun range). I have also presented and fitted merlin as a gank ship against ventures - in place of atron, same dps but can fit two sebos and two scrams so can kill both vent and pod. Adaptation is what gankers do.
Ganking is already run mathematically - it is a race against time after all. You need to know ehp of target and how much time you have to kill it… then bring enough dps. Is the way it is. This is why ganking is successful - cause as much chance happening is taken away from the event as possible.
Then convince people to stop flying expensive stuff. Have them fly 100K ehp procurers… [yes, those are real numbers, I cross 110K on procurer]
hint: CODE. has been always telling to tank their ships, to not bling fit… yet people still do it. Make space safer and you will see even more bling in just a couple of weeks, and gankers will be back at full swing, and people will want even more safety.
Sure. And what is the proportion of such ganks to all the other ganks? Do you know how many perfect skill t2 catas you need to take down 110K ehp in pulled 0.5 system?
