High Sec Freight Unviable - Ganking Is Too Easy

What are you going to do? Spin your ship at me? Bump me to death?

The best method to employ is train a Webber throw-away ship. When sitting on the gate and watching for freighters approaching the gate, contact the freighter captain, and ask to join a fleet. Then tell the freighter captain that you will web the freighter to help it into warp for a small fee, maybe a million ISK.

If no reply, then assume the freighter is on auto-pilot. Lock the freighter up and then apply the webber to the freighter and get it into warp. You will lose your ship due to concord, but three slots for webber ships on a different account will help keep your security status down by rotating through each webber alt between freighters.

I’m into ship spinning :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Great idea, but let’s expand on it a bit. Let’s also add a Counter-Deep State Agent.

For 500 PLEX a swarm of unmarked agents appear and gank freighter of your choosing.

This is also great. I want to add that counter-deep state agents can also infiltrate your ship and sabotage the engines, preventing you from warping.

The only way to rescue your ship, is to boot up VANGUARD and load into your ship. You will be tasked to eliminate the deep state agent (that may also be controlled by another player), while you navigate through destroyed corridors and air vent systems. On your way you will encounter explosions, loss of gravity, air vacuums, malfunctioning security systems and a dark secret that has been buried deep within the freighter…

Don’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling

I may be wrong, but I take maneuverability over tank any day when transporting. I warp to safe points, so I come into the gate from an unexpected angle. Once you’re caught, there’s no amount of tank that’s going to save you unless you have backup.

I do too, but sometimes what I want to move is too big. So if I can’t go fast and cloaky, I hide behind the best tank I can get.

Of course! I haven’t told you about the hidden romance option yet…

I don’t move bulk. I learned to pay the price of refining whatever widget I was producing over the yrs to transport it with more survivable ships. Not busting your butt, just asking if bulk is what you move?

But by definition if its a huge load of something that will ONLY fit in a mega ship then its less likely to be ganked anyway as most gank fleets are small and quite agile and may have an accompanying small hauler. It’s the fleets with 50 Talos that are ganking the mega ships and likely have their own mega ship for the loot…..and they are much rarer. I presume you already know a Talos can do over 2000 DPS. I suspect even a million EHP ship would succumb to that from 50 Talos in 0.5 space. Then again….such a fleet is hard to hide, and in any case would not be profitable on any cargo less than 10bn or so…as the fleet itself would be over 5bn.

Compressed Moon Ore usually. I use my Orca to move it with a huge tank. It’s worth more unrefined.

Or when I’m moving to a new system, it takes 3 trips to move my Avalanche, Bowhead, and Orca. That covers all my ships and belongings.

Yes I know the DPS a Talos can do, but it would require more than 50 Talos ships to strike down my Orca as long as it gets its shields up in time. I run drills when jumping. I’ll jump, select the next gate, and hit all my shields in less than one second after losing the jump cloak. Military way- train until it’s muscle memory. I did 8 years in the Navy. I can reach 1,000,000 EHP on that ship with a focus on kinetic and thermal resists.

It requires activating 7 active modules as fast as possible.

Ok, I get what you’re doing, just don’t do it myself.

Only 1,000,000 EHP? You should probably do some more jumping drills. No wonder you only did 8 years in the Navy.

You sound bitter.

Are you certain that the Navy didn’t do eight years in u go? LOL!

@Krig_Povelli & @DrysonBennington Funny. A basement dwelling armchair warrior is trying to troll me. Go see half as much of the world as I’ve seen and then try again. I’m going to report you now.

If you want to jump, come show me what you’ve got in game.

I’m certain that you have not seen more the world than I have. That’s a guarantee.

You’re going to report us? Lol? You’re a liar about having been in the Navy for eight years, that’s a guarantee.

Did you help the admiral swab the deck with your mop and G.I. bucket or did he help you? Lol. I’m certain you didn’t do eight years in the U.S. Navy.

A calculation from an EVE Online forum post suggests that against an extremely tanky Orca (1.2 million EHP), it would require 75 Catalysts in a 0.5 security system. For a more typical, but still well-tanked, Orca, the number is closer to 30.

Aikio can attest this fact. I have been part anti-ganking efforts and have watched numerous gank attempts in Eudama.

A fleet of 30 Talos is all that is needed to take down any freighter or Orca.

What the hell is wrong with you? Honest question. What is wrong with you? Mental? Physical?

And yes. I know what’s involved in taking down my Orca and its tank. This has been well established over and over. Where were you? Living under that rock in your basement? Water is wet by the way. Eve is a computer game. And it’s spelled ā€œUedamaā€.

And I’m not always in that ship. I have other ships. Come try your luck. Don’t hide behind Aiko. Want me to prove I’ve been around the planet multiple times? Find me in game and prove that you’re worth my time. And my job in the Navy was Aviation Electronics. I served on the real capital ships. Three of them.
