No contest here. If someone goes through that trouble, they god damn deserve their prize. I’m only trying to counter the narrative that there are foolproof methods and only stupid people get ganked.

In addition to a valid mining permit , freighter pilots require a platimum pass
Upon being suicide ganked, a freighter pilot should congratulate their gankers on their success. A “Praise Aiko!” or “PA” in local is customary.

Yes it is possible but very unlikely. More likely his gank toons were criminal when the freighter pilot jumped in. Which was a smart move from the pilot (if it was intentional), however Hawk has the setup do do this and outsmarted him.
Also the freighter wasn’t tacked the usual way you imagine. Freighter was bumped for close to 4 minutes when the neutral alt was used to warp disrupt the freighter so the bumping could continue. And then again ~4 minutes later. When the actual gank started he was tackled by the Oracle/Talos/Maller as usual.
And this wouldn’t be possible if the freighter pilot used webbing alt or had another players’ help for that. That is all you need to actually “escort”.

I haven’t yet undocked in a faction hauler or freighter so it stands to reason that I haven’t complained about my ship destroyed and my cargo stolen.
Not quite. I think it’s more like walking the green mile.
Gankers are one of the things that give this game excitement.
They work hard for what they do, they educate those how to play the game better, they are a significant meta game and Eve would be much worse off without them.
How boring would it be to auto pilot everywhere with no repercussions…no…much better that you have to be on your guard, you have to check the for recent kills, strategize, attempt, feel that adrenaline, sometimes lose and learn more, but sometimes win, to much happiness.
Good on them, thanks for making the game a bit more fun!

I challenged him to one on one combat. We fought, he won, and we had a great chat afterwards. He told me what I did wrong so I could learn. It was fun. I had that ship replaced in 10 minutes.
