High Sec Freight Unviable - Ganking Is Too Easy

How have you avoided being ganked?

Unviable? So why is it that goods are being safely delivered every day?

Do you mean unviable for AFK autopilot?

By knowing the limitations and roles of each ship I fly. My fast ships (Proteus, Pacifier, and Deluge) are fit with speed mods and can warp while cloaked. They have fast top speeds and even faster warp speeds. My Deluge has the fastest warp speed of 11.4 AU/s (as well as a +2 Warp stabilizer) and the Pacifier has the fastest sub-light speed of 4,101 m/s. They’re all fast though.

The Avalanche, Bowhead, and Orca are all slow and have massive tanks that would require an armada to break. These tanks range from 800,000 to 1 million EHP with high damage resistances.

My combat ships are simply able to fight back and take hits. I try out different ships in various situations and sell them if I don’t like them or simply don’t have the right skills for them. The Vindicator is my favorite. It’s fast (for a battleship) and hits really hard! It can also take quite a few hits.

As for mining, I have an alt with a Hulk that mines while sitting right next to the Orca. The Orca protects it. Whether that’s with shield reps, combat drones, or simply allowing the use of the Ship Maintenance Bay, it depends on the situation.

That’s how I stay alive in High Sec.

Sounds like protection is needed in concord space

Calm down, loser. Still pretending to be a PvPer? It’s been 3 years since you’ve undocked.

Your T3 Cruiser, etc, can quite easily be uncloaked by a few strategically placed items.

The tank did not protect you, you simply were not targeted. A couple of bombers with polarized torpedo launchers can easily gank a freighter. ā€œArmadaā€ is too strong of a word for something an ordinary multiboxer flies on a regular Tuesday.

Working alternative:
An alt with a Hyena (or any webbing ship) that also serves as a forward scout. That’s what can protect you, not HP. Just pure intel and insta-warp.

Again. You were not targeted. And no, combat ships are not able to fight back the gank. Ganking is done in a couple of seconds with high alpha damage. Your repair modules don’t play any role whatsoever, only pure HP of your ship does. And if a small gang of gankers can easily chew through a freighter, your combat ship stands no chance.

Working alternative:
There is none, if you are targeted, your ship is gone. Unless, of course, you are flying something with an Assault Damage Control. Now that’s an interesting idea - Assault Damage Controls for Haulers, Freighters and Exhumers. That would bring some interesting gameplay.

Once again, this setup does not offer you any protection whatsoever. A half-decent ganking fleet/multiboxer can gank both your Orca and the Hulk… but it’s usually the Orca that goes.

Working alternative:
Align and d-scan with constant monitoring.

A couple of bombers? Not in high sec. Breacher pods? Sure. But one thing is clear. You’re going to have to spend billions to take out my ships which is the whole point.

You’re going to have to spend a lot. That’s what I want. That’s why I do what I do.

I know how to play this game. I know that nothing is invulnerable. So I made something that will require more than a few destroyers.

That’s how you play Eve. You dont let a couple of destroyers take you down. You make the fight as big as possible.

Big booms! Big ships! And lots of them! And once the smoke clears, you can bet I’m going to be posting the video as I’m buying a new ship so I can do it again!

Did you forget what game we are playing? Aiko sure has!

I know of an Orca with less tank than mine that survived 50 Cats twice.

You are just like so many here. Broken. Someone broke you. ā€œOh anything can be defeated so don’t ever try because no one can win. Just give up all of your stuff before they can come take it.ā€ You have no spirit.

Sorry. That’s not me. I’ve told these jackals over and over. I want to be engaged and I want to see the fight happen. I’ll die on my feet, get up, buy a new ship, and fight another day. That’s how I live my life and that’s how I play this game.

Yes i know it can.

I know how to play this game. I once got decloaked by flying past a corpse.

That is why I’ve sometimes used an Eagle to transport small expensive stuff. You can fit one to have 450K EHP from Assault Damage Control. It would take one Catalyst almost 9 minutes to get through that. In fact you’d need 52 Catalysts to get through it in 10 seconds….and they’d cost almost as much as any 1bn cargo.

Um….you don’t win a battle by not having one. You haven’t really ā€˜defeated’ anyone if they were never interested in you in the first place because they have better or easier targets. I think you imagine half of EVE is after you and you are ā€˜winning’ some sort of fight with a sort of ā€˜nanananana…you can’t catch me’. But making yourself ā€˜invincible’ isn’t really having a fight….it is avoiding ever having one. And gankers and suspect hunters, etc, couldn’t really care less as there’s no end of ships that they can destroy that they don’t need to waste time chasing you.

When I get through Uedama in my 450K EHP Eagle with some expensive item, I don’t consider it a victory…its just a formality. I was always going to make it. There was never any ā€˜fight’.

On the other hand, getting through a ganker filled Uedama in 600m worth of totally unarmed Guardian with only 50K of EHP….now that’s a genuine challenge.

That’s the point. If they aren’t attacking me because it’s too expensive or too difficult then I win. If they attack and fail, I win. If they attack and win, I have a story to tell and a ship to replace. I still get what I want.

ā€œSokath! His eyes open!ā€

Finally you understand me!

Today CCP banned me from asking for kill rights to attack gankers. Its pretty messed up.

ā€œWe have investigated this matter, and we found that you send unsollicited EVEMails to other players in order to obtain Killrights.ā€ - CCP

@Neugeniko really? How long is the ban? And did you get a warning first?

Just banned from asking for kill rights. Its technically illegal but only enforce it if you do it a lot.

how many times do I have to say it? I’ve taken every kind of ship through Uedama. I’ve taken fully tanked slow ships, cloaked fast ones, slow untanked ones, fast untanked ones, corvettes, shuttles, frigates, you name it. I’ve taken expensive ships with expensive holds, and ships that are completely trash. I’ve gone through there in the wee hours of the morning, and right in the middle of the day.

Check my kill board. Not once have I ever lost a ship in Uedama. Hell, I even hung out in there for hours before leaving just to do it once. I’ve hauled billions worth through Uedama to sell in Jita and I’ve spent billions worth in Jita to haul back through Uedama.

You keep bragging all about how you hang out in Jita and go through Uedama, but that’s not anything that everyone else in this game ahs done many times and will continue to do over and over again.

Holy ā– ā– ā– ā– , Gloria, there are about 1,400 people sitting in Jita every time I go there. You are not special. ā€œI sit in Jita!ā€ So do over a thousand other people. It’s not dangerous. You kill 13 people? That’s 1% of the population there. 99% of the people go untouched.

Edit: Oh, and when I was leaving through Uedama, I saw 3 Obelisks on auto-pilot slow boating to the gate and absolutely no gate camp to stop them. I know it wasn’t because they were tanked because Obelisks have a built in tank that can’t be improved.

You aren’t banned from asking for killrights, you are asked politely to stop spamming people with unsolicited emails.

You are awesome.

Do you require expanded cargoholds on your freighter for your ego?
