no. Go away. it needs more quality wardec, not the blank wardec spamming like we have now. Also stop crying about game mechanics , if you want more wardec, then just go Dec some corps. Oh wait then they will fight back and that’s no good for you, so y want to Dec 1 week corps with people who don’t know how to fight… Yeah that suits deccers more
Agreed, but CCP (duh) gave us the wrong solution. Instead of going “you’re not allowed to dec unless X applies, beyond that you can dec a zillion corps” they should have gone “every corp or alliance can initiate 10 wardecs at a time” combined with “if you’re part of a group that started a dec you can’t rejoin another corp or alliance within 7 days of leaving your corp or alliance”
That way everyone can be a target BUT spam deccing “for no reason” is a thing of the past as one has to pick and choose their decs.
Would not solve the new players quitting game , cause they can just create a new wardec corp with alts t grief and farm them
An interesting model would be that the agressing side need to choose an objective. That being destroying target structure, killing x enemies, or killing x isk worth of stuff in a given time ( 1 week, or more if structures) if attacking side complete objectives, they can renew the wardec, if not, it can’t wardec same corp/alliance for 3 weeks.
The problem isn’t wardeccing, the problem is mass deccing (which CCP forced the deccers into themselves by taking away other options). “Farming” wouldn’t happen because they won’t have the dec limit to dec random corps any more, they would be focussed, specific decs “for a reason” and those are fine.
Also new players don’t quit EVE because of wardecs, don’t even bring that BS here. If that were the case we’d see a massive influx of new players since the dec changes and we don’t. And with these changes the vast VAST majority of players would never get decced anyway.
No.
There is literally no link between the two.
Oh… It’s this thread again. Cool.
Why should we need to pay a bunch of money for a war dec if all we intend to do is bash structures? Shouldn’t that be a separate thing, like a demolition contract?
Why?
Why should this return? It was removed for a reason you know.
No they won’t, they aren’t even in a corp that can be war decced.
Not now with last changes but it did that before, the wardec changes where made exactly because if that
Then stop crying and gank them.
If I gank them, then you cry about gankers!

Which did NOT result in a bigger player influx.
Not bigger influx but it DID reduced rate of new players quitting cause they couldn’t undock for a week
have proof for that?
Experienced that myself, used to run a corp / help run corps aimed to guide new players before… If you want raw data y can search on CCP patch notes/ announcements yourself. Not gonna do the work for y
So hearsay and anecdotal evidence, asking around a bunch of “newbies” 90% of which are alts pretending to be new. Told by a miner.
Noted.
Wardecs were never an issue for true new players:
[CCP] Lebowski brings up the data which shows that it’s not actually a lot of brand new players that are
being war decced, because they are not worth declaring war on most likely. Typically it´s more
established corporations that get hit once they are big enough to be a target.
- CCP 13 minutes, Sept 2018
Highsec activity metrics and login counts just went down after the wardec changes, only finally reversing when a global pandemic hit. Anyone with any experience of the situation new CCP’s bandaid wasn’t going to increase true new player retention, as they we never a major target of wardecs.
That doesn’t mean that wars shouldn’t have been worked on, but the fix was just another one that made it harder to interact with other players or for interesting things to happen. It wasn’t aimed at new players that CCP’s own data showed weren’t largetly the target of wars - it was aimed at conflict-averse players. What was, and is still desperately needed are reasons and things for groups to compete with each other with, something CCP has chronically failed to deliver.
Wars needed attention, and they still do. But they need more than yet another nerf to make them a real content generator in highsec.
