I would like to return to Anderson’s strawman argument, stating that PvE mining is required for PvP to occur. Now, as the facts clearly show, we can engage in PvP without any PvE mining, which certainly casts some doubt upon the carebear’s thesis.

My point here is that Anderson is wrong.
She was the one making a point, “Without miners, PvP could not take place, as there would be no ships.” This is fundamentally untrue.
We can obtain frigates for FREE, from any station. Furthermore, each frigate comes with a free piece of tritanium, and they can also be reprocessed. Without even taking into account loot dropped when NPC miners kill NPC gankers, or the vast stockpiles of ships and equipment which players have already, it is quite clearly that even without any miners, PvP would remain possible in EVE.
So I think the carebear is clearly inflating her argument, exaggerating the importance of mining upon the future of PvP. Mining increases the amount of carebear bling within the economy, but it does not itself make PvP possible.

No, this is definitely getting messy. Check the post you were replying to again, and you’ll see that I was quoting her saying that, but then it appears in your post as if it was me who said it, which I didn’t. It’s correct, she cannot handle the truth, but I did not say that myself, LOL.

I would argue that the majority of PvE activities are there to provide opportunity for PvP activities in that they either place players in a position where they’re competing with other players or that the rewards of PvE end up being traded on the market in either their raw form or as a finished product; the market being very much a PvP environment.
Hence CCP’s statement that the core design of the game is that it’s a PvP game.
While I’m aware that my personal definition of PvP is fairly wide in scope, it also agrees with the common definition of a PvP game being players competing with each other, rather than with an AI.

Precisely. This is why high sec should not be more safe, because miners are there to be shot. They have no right to ‘free’ or ‘easy’ isk. Frankly, I think they should remove CONCORD entirely, and allow us to purge these carebears.
