@Andlaust
I agree with your post, and appreciate the economy with which you expressed your opinion.
@ OP
Players in a pvp enabled mmo should expect interaction with other players, in fact that should be one of the reasons to play an mmo.
And players don’t get to decide what is or is not griefing, that is CCP’s job. If you feel someone is targeting you to grief you, you should report them to CCP.
Complaining here about personal interactions in the game is fruitless.
And from your description in the original post, you are in fact complaining about personal interactions. You don’t like how some player is trying to play the game, with you, by playing the game in opposition to you.
Your MTU is not outraged by this player’s actions, your MTU was designed to be interfered with. It is you who does not want to be interfered with, while playing the game; but, EVE is all about interference. You find
I find this inventive and original. It’s not cookie cutter formulaic predictability. It’s spontaneous. And, I like that. I like this design decision and am glad it was implemented.
I don’t think CCP should do more to soften the game for new and returning players and players who intend or choose to engage only in pve activities.
I think that would be a mistake, leading to false impressions of the game, particularly the level of safety of “High” Sec.
High security space is not different from any other area of the game. This is a false impression, perpetuated by the descriptive phrase “High Security”. Other players can interact with you, in High Sec, just like in any other area of the game whether you like how they interact with you or not.
Those are the rules of the game.
You’ve expressed your opinion and asked for other player’s thoughts.
These are mine.
