It very much looks like you zoomed in on a detail, interpreted it in your own little part of space, and forgot the context in which the OP wrote. It is unfortunate for any discussion in any forum topic to steer away from the subject.
This isn’t a thread about the most efficient way of running anoms and plexes, but a more interesting - and cheeky - one about space nerds with tons of sp, isk, equipment and game time who never seem to leave the skirts of mama Aura and hisec “safety”, and seemingly don’t make the transition to riskier parts of space where they could continue to perfect their techniques.
That doesn’t mean that if someone talks nonsense, like you were, he can’t be called out on it. In fact you’re the one who brought up this “zoomed in detail”.
I have 280 Million SP. So far none of it in any dread/cap related skill. Completely and perfectly skilled for subcap fighting. And even then I don’t have all ships to level 5.
What is your take on a vet? What is considered a vet. Does not matter ifyou are in null/low/high or wh each have their community of vets and new players. The region of EVE is not earmarked for a specific subset of players. Even though everybody starts in highsec.
The real issue is that lowsec, nullsec, and wormholes are not sufficiently attractive to those players. Possibly for a whole number of reasons.
I could speculate:
Low/Null/WH require more of a time investment, and that’s before you get to corp or alliance activity requirements.
The benefits aren’t particularly attractive, not everyone feels the need to increase their isk/hour and not everyone really cares about risk/reward balance.
Some players don’t want to engage with PvP and will stay in high sec to reduce their exposure
Folks can harp on about what they want Eve to be and how they think other players should play but at the end of the day tens of thousands of players are happy running endless level 4s or low end sites and after two decades have proven they won’t be shamed out of their happy place.
I liked this analogy…next, we will watch the same 6 people who jump on every thread, tell you why you’re wrong for your subjective opinion. (not that I agree with them or anything)
In fact, a lot about the answer to your question can be found in the life cycle of the given forum thread here.
IMHO true innovation in this universe has evaporated many weird nerfs ago.
People who can’t differentiate between the number of people online and the total amount of players aren’t very intelligent. If only because it’s one server and thus is active 24/7 and beyond that because not everyone plays all the time.
Please define “true innovation.” Because we are limited by mechanical constructs built by CCP. (aka I can’t create a new item/module that supercharges my capacitor on my kronos) I can’t slap solar panels on my citadel, so I pay 0 ISK in fuel costs.
No? I reply and ask probing questions to get the other side of the debate. We lose all hope when people can’t debate/refute points and have open discussion. It is wrong to stereotype people into silence.
I do incursions to repel Sansha from kidnapping humans for their experiments.
I also do incursions for the very high ISK pay CONCORD gives me.
If CONCORD lowered the ISK pay for incursions, I would stop running them.
Would I be a bad person? I got bills to pay and people to feed.
This can be said for RL jobs also.
Fool’s errand to only think people do things for fun/hr. In real life or in pixel spaceships.
being the idiot that i am i foolishly purchased goods in Misaba and took my viator fully fitted to evade all forms of combat what so ever…i also used a scout to ensure i wasnt going to run into any camps i then spent every day for 4 weeks trying to exit said station at varying times and using an insta bookmark needless to say in the end i still lost my goods and ships to people who spend day in day out camping that station and are far better at pvp than i will ever be
and that was the end of me going to low sec ever again
i play to have fun and low sec isnt fun just like null sec is like having a second job which to me its just like so i stick to HS which with my limited playtime keeps me playing whilst still enjoying it and yes i do data and relic sites because i enjoy it if theres none about i do something else instead
You need ISK to do anything in this game. As in Real Life. If you have no ISK you will be in a starter corvette your entire EVE existence. You can’t even afford a shuttle with 0 ISK.
Like in RL you need money to do stuff. Without money you will be homeless and hungry. That is the point I was making.
To say you only play for fun is lying to yourself. People play for fun AND ISK.
That’s your problem, you picked the one place where that’s a well known bad idea.
There’s a reason people simply sell their stuff in that station to the pirates at a loss and never come back, and then in a heartbeat the pirates in turn list them for sale at very low prices for the next mark…
What’s next, you’re going to quit Hi Sec because you can’t autopilot a freighter full of billions of loot through Uedama?
i fly through uedama at least 5 times a week and have never had an issue as i said i purchased misaba items by mistake and did try to do what people say give it a shot and try i really did but thats my point in the end it wasnt fun at all hence i wont be doing it again…i dont play the game for isk and havent for a long time i dont really need it after playing for years
