In spite of the title, the original post is saying that anti-ganking is dead - not that ganking is dead.

Ganking has never been an ISK faucet.

There will always be Ganking. You just need to be more selective in your targets and actually hunt for the dummies that carry a very high value. It will no longer be the isk faucet it once was.

That aside, if as you say, gankers shift their focus towards more valuable targets, how is it no longer an ISK faucet for them? It would be more of one surely.

That also aside, gankers aren’t carebears. ISK isn’t necessarily their goal. There’s lots of other reasons they gank, but carebears don’t seem to think anything other than ISK is important. CCP don’t seem to understand this either.

No, an ISK faucet is something that creates new ISK in the game.

Only insurance for the target of a gank is a faucet.

As Xeux rightly pointed out, prior to 2008, gankers also received insurance when CONCORDed, but that was changed. So there is no ISK faucet for gankers when they gank.

The faucets and sinks in the game are here for example:

Insurance is the only aspect of PVP that is a faucet or sink (in this case a faucet). Everything else is simply a change of who has possession of goods that aren’t destroyed.

The changes were as much of a surprise to us as a corp as to anyone else.
The gankers have changed their targets; the glory days of huge catalyst balls and whoring on KM have gone…
We can and will adapt too… There will always be a suspect or criminal about to apprehend

OK then, on the back of that clarification, why is it no longer the same faucet it once was?

If the gankers go after higher value targets and less cheap ships (eg. more freighters and fewer ventures) why it is less of an ISK faucet then before (going back to the original stupid sockpuppet statement that was made)?

Both of you have it backwards if going with the “this is all about insurance payouts” line.

The gate from perimeter to urlin had tornado waiting as did the u dock at 4-4 and even Aaarrgg was making his standard run to jita.

Oh I agree with you that it doesn’t matter what targets they hit, it’s a faucet either way. Sorry if that wasn’t clear. My only reason for supporting bigger targets is that it’s better content all round.

If you gank, then great. I hope you hit all the big targets you can.

Other gankers though might view different targets as better content all around.

Each to their own, although CCP have certainly become very opinionated about what a legitimate reason to gank is, but as always, when they try to decide what is the right way to play, the community eventually shows them that they have no clue.

This primary chain of hauler ganking was already gone with Niarja‘s move to Pochven.

Ganking has according to zkill moved to Abyss runners, after they got expelled from Jita. Sadly the suspect flag‘s reintroduction is pointless as you can avoid it. IMO CCP should promote more “regular” PvP in highsec. To counter instanced ISK printing it would be balanced to force suspect on T6/T5 runners.

I have Lucas and his alts blocked.

So if CCP forces you to biomass your toon by some nerfs you should just stop posting on forum even when you have years of history here? Well I refuse. As long as I can post on this alt I will.

As for my main, I was called to state who is my main several times and I did that. I even posted with my main to prove it because of non-believers.

So yet again, my main is Honzas Krutas | Character | zKillboard but I am the whole corporation - all the kills are achieved by me and only me.
