The first thing I remember, was my mom holding me so tight it almost hurt.
I quickly found out no one knew my mom, any of our mothers. Slaves rarely do. I do know i was born on a ship. A blockage runner named “The Opper” i would find out later in life.
I would also find out later thatthe woman i thought was my mother was just another slave who had lost her child to the trade. The captain kept us as workers on his ship.
He called us slaves when we were at ports and markets but in space, we were people.
He showed me so much…
