How CCP stopped me from playing my game style

I’m always amused by all the incessant ‘I’ve made trillions in Eve…and its all so unfair’ type threads. Or the equally regular ’ I have 200 gazillion hauling accounts but I lost 57 ISK to a ganker so now I care soooo much about poor noobs '.

Maybe the forums should only be for players with less than 1TN ISK.

None of those players actually have trillions.

They should only be for verified omega account and treated ala cart with an additional 5 usd /mo on top of the subscription fee to utilize.

And before all the white knights start Reeeeeeing! About the poor noobs.

They have an in game chat channel that offers real time answers to their questions and problems.

…actually lol. This player deff has a note-worthy asset pool. Im kidding. Im just a miner.
For real, there’s a reason I have such strong views. Experience. I used to be on comms with you also and that why I value your ideas. I know your play style along with mine and most others in the past has been eliminated.

I feel your pain, HS industry is very hard now indeed with no solution anywhere in sight.

I know a chap in my NPC corp that got half way to building a dread all on his own in HS and then BAM, dead in the water, we now struggle to make battleships. The point is however that it kinda needed to change, just not this drastically. The idea in concept was sound, “add more levers” with the idea being they can then change those, they just do it very very very slowly.

While I wholeheartedly agree its currently close to ■■■■■■ its not completely over. There are still a few things worth making in HS but the other issues are more prevalent, player structures getting blow up left and right while jobs are running or deliberately expensive NPC station job costs and ofc the sourcing of mats is bonkers atm.

Until we get a CSM rep that’s aware (@Mike_Azariah hint hint vote for Mike!) and cares about HS I cant see it changing any time soon, CCP are very much geared now more than I have seen them to date in the forced herding of players into player run gangs as they are still under the fallacy that that’s what players want. Until they properly acknowledge that a lot of players are simply not interested in that its going to be a uphill battle.

Don’t give up yet, look into other things to make. Like right now entosis modules

Unfortunately this is the truth contrary to the marketing that suggests you can play your game

Why don’t they put that in the advertisement for the game, instead of lying about it?
Why don’t they tell players that there’s only one or two ways to play the game, instead of pretending it’s a Sandbox?
" Come play EVE! More than 7 thousand systems in which you can play as WE want you to…"
I bet that would bring in new players

You know that eve is a sandbox style multiplayer game right? That means that it is not a static game, it has to adapt to the way players have to play and they have to adapt to the changes that the game undergoes when it tries to balance. Also, sandbox means that you can play as you want within the limits of the box that CCP has designed in this case.

In the end you are right, CCP should explain that to players like you, who are the reason why the detergent comes with a label that recommends not to eat it.

That’s just utter nonsense. A good deal of the PvP in highsec is around war HQs. There’s dozens of ongoing wars at any moment. I’ve taken part in highsec wars ranging all the way from a few dozen participants up to 5000 in one system. Only yesterday I was involved in a highsec wardec fight with 640 on the structure killmail. In what conceivable sense is this ‘PvP destroyed’ ???

What’s more, war HQs are not exactly vastly expensive. You can set one up for not much more than the cost of a larger sized battleship. This is something I fully intend my new Omega account to get involved in…and its a pathway for anyone getting involved in as much highsec PvP as they want.

I thought that’s what it’s supposed to be, yes.

Sorry, that’s not what Sandbox means.

That sounds like Sandbox, yes.

Thank you. I did think I was.

And for that you’re put on Ignore.
Thanks for playing.

I agree, that was rather rude and insulting. Putting him on ignore too before he throws his vitriol my way.

Right, that’s one of the characteristics of every multiplayer game.

Oh no…

Ash is the prime example of someone who cannot adapt to changes to the game.

Its nice to see this discussion. Eve used to be a sandbox and it was simply not up for question. But most choices have been made for you or not by you now. All of things that truly matter are not available anymore. Eve was full of real possibilities and the butterfly effect used to be reality. Eve was a wonderful game.

And you actually believe game trailers?? :joy: To be honest I fell trap to the Stellaris trailers and now I have the game + a bunch of DLCs.

You are in the only group that exists. What was given up to have those fights? All competition since 2017. Your own leaders know the truth and admit it. There is zero competition and never will be for years to come out side of the obvious nullblock and TTT fallout. I was there in those fights you speak of. Ive been in all the major wars in highsec for the past 14 years. Ive been a part of your group and Ive been a part of the competition. The facts are that the competition has been shrinking and is now practically gone. The fact that your organization has to fall under certain agreements for taxes/income and even is in the position it is in, is directly due to war hqs. If you didnt know this… now you do. Not to take credit from your leadership team either, they are amazing players. What I describe is not about you, its about the lack of competition and the exact reasons why.
Wes, they weren’t asking honest questions. They were looking for the right answers to justify decisions already made. Those decisions come from political sources and ESG ratings.

If others want to get involved…what’s stopping them ? There’s mercenaries who set up player owned structures solely for the purpose of being allies or mercenaries in this or that war. That is something anyone can do, with the right skills. One of my accounts is aiming towards precisely that.

As for it all shrinking…the Finanar war was likely the largest ever highsec war and that was only 5 months ago. And only yesterday we’ve had a huge battle with 640 pilots on the killmail for a highsec Fortizar.
