How to stop an Orca from being ganked is don’t undock it.
Use a Porpoise for boosting and don’t care about anyone compressing anything.
Yeah that’s exactly my point. The option is to not use it.
Losing the orca is really not up to the orca, I mean 99% of the time there was nothing the orca can do. With other blingy stuff like marauders, you have plenty of time to react, warp out, hit mwd whatever.
It’s a very one sided affair, as the attacker had perfect intel also decided when, where, how and if. While the target has to be ready all the time. It’s not really PVP, it’s DPS vs concord really.
It is like talking to a brick wall.
In 300 posts, plenty of different people have given diverse advice how to still use one and mitigate most of the associated risks. That’s the option to use it.
I do not recommend listening to Ash Beldrulf, as he has a habit of creating a new thread in regular monthly cadence to do nothing but complain about the state of mining. He is in a permanent “can’t do anything” sour pessimistic mood, so if you want to get out and make your mark on the universe and grab it by the balls, you’re going to have to change whose advice you listen to.

Now you understand it. You as a mining or indy player means nothing to CCP. You are nothing but content for other players or you are just wallet that CCP can take money from.
Here’s an idea, try playing the game without paying anything.
You never know, you might enjoy it.
You are prey, accept it. What you don’t have to be is easy prey.
Me, I try to be wily prey; hard to catch in the first place, hard to kill if you do.

Can’t fly any mining ships worth flying as free play.
What I enjoyed doing in EVE, CCP Ratt and CCP will never fix it. So when my Omega runs out, it is time to leave again.

Im sorry you seek such a shallow experience.
As a new alpha miner and industry player, the Venture’s nice as a small ship. And if you want a bigger mining ship, there’s always Battleship fits with enough cargo space to beat a Venture and enough turret slots to overcompensate for the loss of yield bonus, while also having faster align times than Orcas and better tank.
Not really a sensible answer, but it wasn’t a sensible statement I was replying to. I think it’s a fair trade.
