Ah…‘whatabout’-ery…as well as gaslighting. ‘Whatabout…xyz’ is the ultimate troll tactic. It’s the same tactic flat earthers use whenever a specific point is debunked…always a fall back to ‘whatabout…this or that’.

This is true. Anyone who has been around a while, particularly in the early days of Eve would know that Eve’s campaign to build a player base revolved around the “Be the good guy or be the Pirate”. CCP wanted PLAYERS to create the conflict and balance…or lack of balance in the game. This is what has made for a sandbox full of content that is the very reason we are all still playing a 20 year old game. Everyone has their niche of what they like to play, as they should.
However, “the average player”? Let’s break it down…
The percentage of players that are gankers, in comparison to other play styles, is small in comparison to the overall player base. In fact, it’s likely that the null-block players make up the biggest percentage of the player base, hence why the politics always seem to weigh in their favor.
Ganking, piracy, scamming… just a few of the many play styles that Eve marketed to players. This appeals to some as they can do the things they cannot do in rl without catastrophic consequences. It’s fantasy. Pixels in Space. As long as one sees it for what it is, just make-believe and nothing more than programming code made to look pretty, why should it bother anyone. No one seems to have an issue shooting photo-realistic human beings in games like Call of Duty, etc…why would they take it personal in a cartoony space-ship game?
Why attempt to insult or troll a player for doing what they want in a fantasy game just like you are doing? Typically, that’s because they expect it to be their fantasy, not realizing it’s everyone’s. This is called entitlement…or to a greater degree, facism.
Play a game to enjoy a game. If you don’t enjoy it, move on. Find one you do like rather than blame other players because you cannot find your niche in this game. Don’t expect the world around you to change because you don’t like it, same goes for Eve. If you want change, be the tool that brings it about. Complaining and protesting something you don’t like or disagree with is not action. Action makes changes. Action requires work and sacrifice, something to which many are averse.

It’s not only gankers who destroy ships, even though members of this forum would like to think so.
I’m not insulting or trolling. I was raised better than that.
I can’t think of any reason why it would be wrong to gank a freighter. They chose to play the game, and they lost. Oh well.
I didn’t mean you, personally. I was making a generalization. I should have been more clear on that. 
Bookmarking the location right next to each and every jump gate along your path, bringing along an MWD and other gadjets to improve your align time as low as possible for each jump plus that one instant jump in case you see a huge group of ships… maybe a cloaking device? the one you can warp with? am I close?

I thought only a covert ops ship can warp cloaked. Did this change?
Sure, you can fit a cloak to any ship, but can’t warp cloaked or shoot, mine, or anything else. How would that help a miner or hauler? Doesn’t make much sense to sit in a belt in a mining ship, cloaked, doing nothing.
The T2 haulers (or at least the Upwell T2 Hauler) can warp while cloaking. I know from experience. I recently bought an Upwell Hauler (Delugue). It warps while cloaked.
I did not know that. Then again, I have never flown any hauler besides an iteron in my early days.
I bought it instead of the Empire one because Gallante has such UGLY haulers! They look like a tobacco pipe!
I always thought the ity looks like a vacuum cleaner…or something else I can’t mention here. 
t2 haulers before the upwells consisted off (covops) Blockade runners, and Deep Space Transports.The latter are great becasue it has a mwd bonus , repping and MWD bonus which gives the greedy bear the impression they are safe from lockdown , can outheal and power through gank which ofcourse they can’t. The blocade runner cargo can’t be scanned so they just get alpha’ed on sight.
