How does CCP know they are doing the right things?

It seems like CCP is keen on turning EVE Online into a cheap mobile game. Maybe they looked at the numbers for Mobile games, and thought they could make money by tapping into that segment. But this would suggest that the game is not delivering the kind of growth or sustainability they desire in its current segment.

But the question is why is EVE seemingly not growing and why is CCP doing this radical stuff by developing an FPS from scratch and trying to integrate into EVE Online? And at the same time ther working on a version of EVE that has blockchain?

Is it possible that CCP has done everything right whith the content they add and changed over the years in EVE:Online, but the interest just isnt there despite the content being added is really good? Or is it because the content and the changes are making the game unattractive?

If the latter is the case the solution is not a crypto game or a FPS spinoff so to speak. Its to fix whatever causing them to make bad changes and additions to EVE.

My point is, at the moment it seems like CCP believes they are doing well maintaining EVE Online, but in spite of this, they are not seeing any desirable growth. But what if they are doing a bad job mainting EVE Online and that is the reason they are not seeing growth.

Tl;dr What if EVE Online had growth potential, but CCP does not know how to grow it?

It makes sense when you realize CCP is now owned by the South Korean games company, Pearl Abyss. The same people that brought you Black Desert on mobile.

How did CCP get owned by them? And is there any hope then?

I trust CCP more than I trust your ideas on the forums, to be honest. At least they seem to have an idea what they’re doing most of the time.

They have made questionable choices, but I’ve never rolled my eyes at their design choices as I have done at the majority of your threads, this one included.

It’s always funny how people who never created any successful online game (or probably any other business) come into the forums of companies that have hosted online games that were successfull enough to make them a living for multiple decades and complain about how stupid those companies are.

The only way to grow beyond our current number of players is to give in to the whims of the current generation of gamers, which would turn EVE into something it isn’t and was never intended to be. If it ever came to that, it would be better just to pull the plug…

Inb4 EVE Farmorama Online in a Crypto Store near you.

:innocent: :psyccp:

You know you want to. :smiling_imp:

Who says gamers have changed? And if they have, how do you know the only way to grow is to “cave”?

Pearl Abyss is making a ton of money off people like me. They bought CCP for at least $3 back in 2018, because they were losing money. PA continues to cash in on my retirement checks, while I casually pop in here and play for free. Hope that explains it.

Have fun!

The current generation of gamers want everything given to them with absolutely zero effort on their part. They whine about skill training taking too long, whine about the subscription cost, whine about there not being any PvE-only areas, whine about having to actually pay attention and actually play the game instead of everything being AFK, and so many more than I care to list here…
