LOL
For starters, your implication there…I am not a nullsec player, i play in highsec. I have no skin or wish to be in nullsec, ever.
2ndly: I never claimed EvE was perfect, it does though have a core to it which is Sandbox PvP…and literally everything in EvE is pvp. Not my fault people can not understand that and try to change something into something it will never be and maintain its integrity.
Now as to the plex thing…i dont care I sub every account i own and i have fun playing EvE Online.
If a carebear can not learn and have fun with it as well, that is not my problem.
Maybe that carebear should move onto something he/she actually enjoys cause not going to see any traction here.
It doesn’t really matter what kind of player you are. Nor will anyone object that you voice preferences for the way(s) you prefer to play EVE.
But please don’t use that “shut down the discussion with new-age logic” style of argument.
What you said seemed cut straight from the ultra-reactionary “EVE bittervet narrative”. It’s long past time they, and any “fellow travelers” started to contribute, rather than just disrupt every constructive discussion.
The interesting part of all this is that there are many players in Eve who multi-box 13 plus accounts and for them they grind an excessive amount of ISK which unbalances the entire system. So many people complain about not being enough ISK sinks to balance off against that and then they wonder why new players don’t stay who find the increase in a ISK sink such as skill books turns them off the game.
Generally anyone who freely uses the word carebear to define others. Take this:
At a guess Max Deveron will be using all his characters either in an NPC corp or a corp that cannot be war decked. While the owner of the hisec Athanor would most probably want to have the grid turn miners who are not in the dock list suspect for mining the stuff. Who is the carebear?
@Elena_Laskova has done a pretty good job at assessing all these contradictions put forth by players like Max Deveron. And to be blunt he is responding to a person who is labelling people he does not like. It is a very dishonest tactic to label someone for replying to something that you accuse the person of doing when in fact the original poster did it. Your forum foo is rather mixed up!
And you guess wrong, I have been observing Elena over multiple threads and have given multiple likes to him/her, I have also had one disagreement and had a debate on it.
Elena has called out the people who use dishonest tactics on this forum and there are many such people, I have come across them myself multiple times.
I think there’s 2 major components to be done to get more players:
Redesign UI - srly it’s archaic especially ship control panel, drones control etc
Make long epic SP campaign which will teach newbies and show them lore, suck them into eve atmosphere, if someone try spaceship game he is a sci-fi nerd and all sci-fi nerds love great storys. Abyssal pocket tool give here a lot of possibilities for incredible jaw droping sceneries and skipping a lot of problems of open world. But this is hard, such a campaign need new music, assets, sceneries, voice acting, preperations, cutscenes with quality of old eve trailers.
Would be really cool if such a campaign starts on our solar system in times when gumanity discovers eve gate, we could witness how all of this starts. Then depending on faction first few missions are different, after that all get the same, teach them all ships class, put newbies in battleships, wormholes, show them drifters etc. But yeah all of this require pumping a lot of skillpoints into clone, but also hey it’s eve, after campaign let’s say player dies and loose most of skill points but You have this way two things: first You show newcommers shipsclass, gameplayes so they know what was fun for them, then You can give them some skillpoints so they can put them as they want, if they like cruisers play then they can from start have decent cruisers skills, maybe they like battleships or something else?
You mean like getting ganked during this storyline (which obviously would lead into low multiple times(?
Sry but this no idea to drag new people into this game, they would ragequit the second or third time they got shot out of their ship…at least make them unattackable using a noob protection during this noob storyline…
And yes that is abuseable by alts but this is to accept…
What you are suggesting is like judging a game by its cinematics…if this would be true star wars the old republic would be awesome…
Did anyone actually suggest this? Traco’s comment has a context: “during this noob storyline”.
We have to trust CCP to avoid accidentally bestowing “godmode” on a character that can operate in the normal EVE environment. But even CCP must have noticed by now that every potential exploit is promptly identified and used
You aren’t really aware that -in a short period of time- you and a few are the only one playing this and that decisions had to be made that turn this trend around?
5 years of a decreasing playerbase is bad enough,to do nothing against it further on is simply stupid
The suggestion and your response to it? Or Dread Saboteur’s? I read them all.
Mine is a response to Dread Saboteur’s. I think he might have been joking, but wrote “))” instead of a smiley icon, so I went for a “middle of the road” response.
On reflection I should have made my post even more neutral, but it’s too late for a significant change now. I certainly don’t want to discourage Dread Saboteur from posting. IIRC he makes interesting posts.
