eve is slow af and grinndy like its some kind of prison
nobody will waste months to lear some skills in order to fly some ship
imagine you start as new player and want to fly something big, not only you need $$$, but you also need to waste irl time

The old argument of " I want to be as good as someone that has been here longer than me. I want that right now!" Sorry folks here in Eve it is not about instant gratification. It is setting a goal and working towards it.
Want to fly that big shiny ship. And be as good as a vet. Then work towards it and one day you will be. The kicker is that you will be a vet by then as well. Probably a bitter vet too.
If I want instant gratification I can play a few arcade type games or board/card games online. As I play tend to play games that are not instant gratification. Such as Eve. For me to spend maybe a few hours and be flying as good as anybody that has been playing longer than me. That would be a nonstarter.
When people ask me about what eve is like. My elevator speech is this.
Eve Online is a game for self starters. People willing to set goals and work towards them. Even though there is no telling how successful you will ultimately be. There is a lot to do in Eve. Such as exploration, mission running, and yes getting in to those big fights you see on youtube from time to time. All that takes time and effort. And yes there is a good reason why Eve Online is sometimes referred to being spaceships and spreadsheets.
If I could have climbed into a titan in the first week of playing. I would never have gone for a sub and by now have boredly quit/uninstalled the game.
The game for me engages my imagination. Challenges me to work towards my goals. And most important of all is fun. I do not want it watered down to a point. That I can climb into say a tengu and be as good as a vet of a decade or so.

Ah the old appeal to tradition, how dare people demand to have fun in a boomer video game, we had to train learning skills for six weeks before we were allowed to do anything, just be happy youâre allowed to use an afterburner from day one and farm your daily alpha injector for a few months and never AFK or the Catalysts with unlimited resources will get you.

Yep and there it is.. I can not have my instant gratification. How dare a game force me to actually force me to play a game as intended. I want to do it now! Make it easier. This sandbox game that warned me that I was not ready for it was right. Not fair!

Was this done by the same guy who does the â90% of people canât solve this puzzleâ mobile ads? Did it work? Did people jump on the engagement bait and say âWhat? Iâll show you!â or is player retention way down?

You might be surprised how many players have actually been to null as part of a corp, and then decided it wasnât for them.

idk if the newer devs still feel this way, i know some older devs are still here that have the belief that players should figure things on their own.. i think thats the issue with eve compared to other games⌠no other game basically tells you to FAFO quite like EVE
