problem is that anyone can place a gantry and make a corp war eligible
This is the issue Scipio.
Your 3. is irrelevant, because something that should be covered by a role is getting bypassed.
That is the exploit being discussed.
What you see as a problem, I see as an opportunity (an opportunity to really teach the new players in the corp how to survive and enjoy the game more).
I donât think be wardeccable is a problem (it never was actually), but Sabus being a dick brought that on. Consequences of who the CEO is.
go look at wer4 war history, they are doing to everyone. not just ICANP and it didnt start with ICANP. peoples Opinion on a CEO doesnt excuse exploiting a bug.
if the placing of a structure without roles was the documented procedure, then this wouldnt be a topic of debate. except that it is documented that corps that do not allow structures CAN NOT have customs office placed down by ANYONE without roles/rank
Customs offices are SPECIFICALLY named
âWhen this option is set to reject structure transfers, any attempts to transfer an Upwell structure or customs office to the corporation will be declined automatically. Transfers of sovereignty structures within the corporations of an alliance are not affected by this setting.â
From:
I agree that the current situation is unintuitive. I canât believe CCP ever really intended it that way and it should be patched out, given the recent approach of CCP towards unintuitive mechanics.
That doesnât change vetting though, and those rules arenât irrelevant. If Sabus wasnât a dick, good chance no one would be focussing on his Corp. His would be just like hundreds of other non-wardec eligible corps.
these are 2 different topics. this post is about the war dec bug, not ICANP or sabus policies or personalities
Yep. Completely.
this right here is all we want, then we will go back to doing what we do
Iâm sure. CCP seem to have a different view and really, there view is far more relevant than mine.
I do find it interesting that people will point to âNewbies are getting killedâ because that is what the false flag people running around screaming are stating⌠because that is what these none wardeccable corps are for right? Not to hide risk averse players. When I mostly see 5 year + people flying around in in multi billion isk loot pinatas. The only risks they face now, are gankers.
then they should tell us. its DOCUMENTED that customs offices should be rejected. if that has changed, please tell us so we can make what we deem to be appropriate adjustments.
most of ICANP does NOT pvp, we dont have ships and fits for it. we havent needed to. now with this war dec we are having to adjust our entire gameplay. if CCP came and said YES its a bug we are WORKING ON IT, then we wouldnt be here bitching, we would hide in docks and alt corps until it got fixed. but ccp hasnt said that. so now we have to adjust our entire corp (or a portion of its) focus to deal with what, on paper, is an exploit, because we havent gotten a response either way.
If it was exploting a bug, it would have, or will be, declared as such.
Until then, there is a great opportunity to get people to undock and teach them how to survive and enjoy the game, even in highsec, during a wardec.
Just donât let Sabus try to get you into a fight in a war. When he FCâs from the safety of an Upwell Structure, bad things happen:
So much for a great BoB FC.
It wont be Sabus leading the fleets in the war. it will be me. i have only been playing eve for a short time, and im learning game mechanics and such. but i have close to 15 years in other mmo games as a pvp leader, and of all the ICANP members im the one pushing for war the hardest. so now i get to learn in the most Darwinian of circumstances.
but hey its a game. i for one like the idea of going to war. i DONT like that we are FORCED to do it by what we interpret as an exploit.
either way i plan to have fun. im here because i dont like what its doing to other members of my corp who dont want to be in a war.
I am happy to lead people and teach them to die with honor in highsec combat.
come to ICANP and lets do it
If you are serious⌠Happy to do so. It will not be my first time.
fill out and app and add me as a contact in game (same name)
Good luck.
A couple of approaches:
- See if you can get someone to join Corp and assist you to learn, given your current situation.
- Find a defendable position in highsec.
As an example of 2, look at this pipe of systems not far from Dodixie:
From Scolluzer to Chesiette, there are 5 highsec systems with only one pipe that backs onto Syndicate nullsec.
By putting a scout in Scolluzer, you can know well in advance of any enemy that tries to come up that pipe. That will often provide 3-4 systems of freedom to members to play relatively normally, with advance notice if someone comes to ruin the fun.
That also provides gates that you can set up camps on.
Itâs generally unlikely that wardeccers will come at you from the other side, as the minimum hop from highsec to Reblier is from Stacmon, and that is 6 jumps through low and null to get to the Chesiette gate in Reblier. But it can happen, but with only 2 scouts you can cover all approaches into that pipe.
There are other pipes like that in highsec.
You guys have the added complexity of spies/awoxxers, but as an initial approach, finding a location in highsec like above, gives you opportunity to control whether and where an engagement might happen.
For the most part, corps can still run sites and mine during a war when they find an out of the way location like that.
Then, get some small, fast cheap fit ships that can lock fast and if something solo comes, kill it. If something too big comes, strategically blue ball them by docking up.
Donât talk â â â â in local. Just stay quiet and ignore the presence of attackers that you canât take on.
Most of all, donât get upset if you die. Highsec wars mean only some people can attack you, so it can be a great opportunity to have a fight and win or lose, learn a few things about pvp in eve (and learn more about the mechanics relevant to pvp like the fleet mechanics).
What you call teaching is called whining by the rest of us, if you have an issue ingame with something, learn do deal with it or circumvent it, ingame, not by bitching on forums begging for help from daddy CCP.
You donât seem to get the real issue with your beloved CEO and why heâs unfit to lead you.
