When i invest time and money making wrecks in NS or WH space and you come along to salvage I’ll try to kill you without stupid HS security intervening.
If stupid security wouldn’t intervene, you can still try and salvage the wrecks I make with a ship bigger and blingier than I what the person is flying making the wrecks… that would be a good rule. But it just communist low life crap in HS.
Oh ok, well then I dont really know a good way to advise you that you would like.
Most of the anti-Trig fleets Ive claimed salvage from tend on the 3 to 5+ account 1 man high sec corps. Who arent able to wardec me due to their not having a structure.
Yeah, that’s how it’s set up but if wrecks don’t belong to anyone then why is it you can’t tractor wrecks made by other players? Also when you think about it, having the ability to abandon wrecks and turn them blue essentially implies ownership of the wrecks. Sure it allows them to be tractored by anyone but that act alone definitely implies ownership.
Yeah, I know it was actually meant to give up ownership of any loot contained within those wrecks. However when that game mechanic was first implemented there was a lot more wrecks containing loot back then compared to now. That loot was worth a lot more than the salvage from the wrecks. Since the amount of wrecks containing loot has been nerfed down to nill, in most cases the salvage is now worth more than the loot drops.
CCP should probably rework the game mechanics for wrecks and include salvage rights with wreck ownership. Also since wrecks only last for 2 hrs they could include an automatic blue timer to happen after 1 hr of wreck life turning both wrecks and loot into a free for all.
Toxicity is subjective, I find the atmosphere in other games, particularly FPS type games to be far more toxic than that of Eve. One common thread in my experience is that the most toxic people are often those that don’t understand the game, or just plain hate having their backsides handed to them on a plate by someone that they deem to be inferior, more so if that “inferior” person happens to be female.
As i’ve said, they won’t, because salvaging is meant to be this way, its not something that needs to be changed, if you’re not fast enough to salvage the wrecks then that is your problem, you realise there are literally mission running ships designed with tractoring and salvaging in mind right
No i didn’t miss it, it just doesn’t change anything, ther eis a difference between tractoring a wreck and salvaging a wreck, the tractoring is because the loot inside the wreck is yours, the salvage doesn’t belong to anyone, its a mini-profession in EVE and they aren’t going to change it, thsi is not the first thread whining about salvagers and it won’t be the last
Not really a conundrum, the mechanics work the same regardless of if it has loot in it, its easier for the server to just treat all wrecks the same rather than having to run different functions for wrecks based on if they have loot in them or not
Its also less confusing for new players to have some wrecks automatically become blue just because they don’t contain any loot
