I am surprised I still care enough to be angry about this

The launcher currently shows this message.

So its not exactly a $4.99 DLC for a retriever, that line was crossed years ago, yet somehow it feels like a new line is getting crossed.

Edit, I see this was already posted about, shame there is not a delete option.

Watch the trailer for Catalyst on Discord, get a free ship.

Don’t want the free ship, watch it on Youtube.

Don’t want to watch it, ignore the link.

What’s there to be upset over?

Its the principal of it. Should not matter if its a free venture or a 1 in 1000000 chance of getting a titan, its stuff made outside of the game economy.

Were it a temporary item or a cosmetic, that would be different.

You’re late to the party, ships like the praxis have been given out to players via handouts before and have been integrated into the game for years, so unfortunately, your complaint rings very hollow.

It’s been this way for many, many years. Free SocT ships for login events. If you do every career agent for every faction you can get 108 ships for “free”. Meaning no player manufactured them. They are just produced out of thin air….

While very true, I like to think of the ships given through the career agents as having been manufactured by the factions, like the Federal Navy Assembly Plant, Ishukone Corporation Factory, Imperial Armaments Factory, Boundless Creation Factory…
I mean even the CONCORD ships would be manufactured by NPCs and the ships piloted by the rats, the gates maintained by the factions, so on and so forth.
It’s immersive and it does make sense to see it that way because nothing has ever sprung out of thin air.

You must really hate PLEX then, because you can buy billions of currency outside the game economy.

What about those Geckos? Those never existed inside the game economy until CCP injected thousands of them into the game by gifting them to every active account.

Congrats, you’re complaining about nothing new.
