Normally I don’t reply to comments because it can go on and on with no end is sight.
However I wish to rebutt your point 4.
I’m afraid your off the mark.It has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence or anything else like that.
I call them bottomfeeders because of there actions dictate the name I give them.
They hang around looking for easy kills etc etc.
Put it this way;
Your walking down the street, suddenly 3 people jump out of an alley way, pull you in and attack you.
It doesn’t matter wether you best them or they you, what do you call these people, criminals definitely, but I’m betting you and many other would have some other colourful adjectives to describe them.
And so that’s how I describe these sorts of players in games. As I said I have no malice for them, but I don’t think they are particulary skilled.
Oopsadaisy. Because of that reply I will have to reduce the score I originally gave you by a full point. Your score is now 4.5/10 and shows you are not willing to learn how things ARE but persist on wanting things to be your way. I believe in other scoring systems that would be “F” ?
Note to parents: Chaxis, after a good initial start, is showing signs of rebellion against his teachers. His unwillingness to learn will result in frustration and possibly verbose tantrums on media. Especially his inability to adjust to new surroundings and his insistence that rules from “real society” should be followed are worriesome. We will closely monitor his progress in the coming months and may have to advise you to seek training for him elsewhere.
I sense potential for you to enjoy this game - IF -you can distill your admirable determination from your not-so-admirable stubborness and use it to your advantage.
You hardly know much about this game. That is ok. Nobody knows much about any new thing they involve themselves in the beginning stages of their involvement in it, eh?
Attitude is everything in EvE. My friend you must change your attitude towards learning about this game and please consider what folks might be trying to tell you/teach you about EvE.
Read much on EvE. Watch some videos about EvE.
EvE is an enjoyable game, if you arm yourself with knowledge. You will get out of EvE enjoyment in proportion to what you put into it in attention and effort.
I sincerely hope you will be able to look back at what you are saying now and wonder “What was I thinking?” Be the opposite of the OP.
Yes, I urge you to join a corp. Why? You will learn so much about this game. EvE can indeed be played more casually if you wish, but really you need to know how to play it first to know how to do that properly.
TBH I don’t think you could have driven my point home any more thoroughly if you had used a sledgehammer.
What you’re describing is simply a predator. Offhand, I can’t think of anything that is looking for a real challenge out of a meal.
The diet of bottom feeders typically consists of various invertebrates, detritus/decaying organic matter, and even feces. Again, it does not seem like you’re really thinking through the implications here.
This is a poor analogy. The moral, ethical, and legal standards of the real world are largely suspended within Eve, which is a game, and has its own rule-set that defines the constraints of what is and isn’t allowed. To play the game is to tacitly agree to that rule-set. That rule-set absolutely does not include your own self-invented notions of E-Bushido, and lashing out at other players for not adhering to rules of conduct that exist exclusively in your own head is… childish.
In Eve, I would just regard them as “other players” or maybe “opponents”. If you’re making it any more personal than that, it’s your attitude that’s at fault - not their behavior.
It’s difficult to ascertain what your point is supposed to be here.
You’re particularly unskilled, to a degree where we can consider the skill level of your opponents as essentially irrelevant, yet for some reason it seems important to you that they not be regarded as “particularly skilled”.
A lot of people aren’t particularly skilled at Eve. Hell, I wouldn’t regard myself as being “particularly skilled”, and I can’t say I know all that many players who would regard themselves as such, either. Of the ones who do think themselves “particularly skilled” I’d say the large majority are being rather optimistic.
About the only thing you can reliably say about their skill is that they’re definitely outperforming you by a clean country mile, which means you could stand to learn something from them, provided you could park your urgent desire to salve your ego long enough to do so.
Let’s have a look at one of your losses (there are only two, and the other appears to be you having faceplanted into a predictably located gatecamp in Syndicate).
Your killer, in this case, has an extensive history of solo low-sec PvP. They seem to be flying a Rifter - a basic T1 frigate - exclusively of late.
They’re enjoying solo kills using a T1 frigate against other frigates, destroyers, cruisers, and even some battleships, while you haven’t figured out how to fill all of the module slots on your ships yet, and from that perspective, any remark you might have about their level of skill seems like mere petulance, not reasoned analysis.
Try a little something, the next time you die to a player:
Convo your killer, explain that you’re a fairly new player, and ask them for advice.
no one needs a corp . its a choice
corps are a pain in the ass imho
some people looooove them , not me
noobs nowadays cant even become aware that eve have 15++ years , its one of the best mmorpgs ever made, have a dedicated following
they think is yet another stupid FTP game , because of that they talk a LOOOOT of ■■■■
we don’t need this kinda of new players , eve deserve better , and you can be sure by digital darwinism , better we get
Your making a huge mountain out of a molehill.
We categorize people everyday of our lives.
I put camping/ganking into bottomfeeder catergory.
You don’t agree with it ,fine.
But are you really saying that those killed by gate campers and gankers are equivalent to the sludge at the bottom of a pond? I don’t think it is a very nice metaphor for what is going on here.
It’s more like these PvPers are indeed predators, like say a pack of wolves, picking off the young (newbies), old (complacent), reckless (greedy) and sick (AFK) players to feed off them. They keep the ecosystem and herd healthy, and make for a more interesting and dynamic game.
But yes, everyone is entitled to share their opinion, even if it one that belittles and insults their fellow gamers. I will point out though, you aren’t in Kansas anymore and your eBushido bluster isn’t the norm here as you may have been used to at home. Eve players tend to have a more refined and enlightened view of gaming and what gaming is, worked out over almost two decades of exploration and discussion of the virtual world that is New Eden.
You’re trying to reason with someone who sticks to his guns simply to save his ego. They killed him, or try to, and thus they are “bad people” which are “scum”. No point in trying to have a conversation with him instead just point out the fallacy, laugh and move on.
The big difference is how one goes about this “categorizing”. If one belongs to one of the “Judgmental” types in the MBTI, it is done via swift evaluation and is long-term, if not permanent.
The rest, belonging to the “Perceptive” groups tends to re-assess and respond according to circumstances and evolutions, and re-evaluates constantly.
Solo play is cool but with EVE, where simply undocking paints a target on your bumper, I’d say joining a larger, more experienced group of players just makes the most sense. The game is designed that way.
Learn to gank, who knows you might like it.
Should the Trigs have coordinated their move with you? CCP throws in an invasion, well, it’s their game and why not? Seems to me, much everything goes in EVE. Read up on it, it’s a cesspool of lies and treachery… Not unlike some other world I sometimes wake up to.
That’s PvP, there are no criminals as far as there are no bodies, just pixelated “clones” you may or may not pay for, that’s on you.
Thanks for the advice but I’ll explore a whole lot more of EVE before I come to that conclusion, if ever.
Every online game has its share of nuts. EVE is a huge universe with thousands of players. If only four of five get along well then you got yourself a game. I already know what corporation I’m going to join, now I just need my gaming space finished.
Depends on your definition of ‘significant’. Time management for EVE Online may be some thread topic you may start.

People should just automatically ignore whatever this person posted purely based on what he said and mail not only to players but CCP staff. He will not reply here, it is more likely he is already banned.
I’ve only been playing Eve for a little over a month. I’ve come from World of Warcraft and Neverwinter among others so this is a completely new experience for me. And I’m loving it.
I love the fact that it is designed to be a long haul game; I love that it has no endgame, no levelling up. I love that there are no quests. I also love the ‘free trial’ of the game that you can play forever just with (quite substantial but understandable) limits. I’ve not seen too many other games doing that.
I will be honest and say that I absolutely detest PVP and will do everything I can to avoid it - but I know Eve is a PVP game and I realise that I am at risk of being involved in it every time I undock. I do not, however, hate PVPers; I respect that they are enjoying the game their way and are doing nothing wrong. And when I do eventually become involved in it, because I will, no question, then I will try and learn from it and adapt. (After I’ve yelled a few choice swearwords at my computer for a few mins! lol!)
This game has so much to offer and I can already see that it’ll take a long time (perhaps even years) to take it all in. I’m in a good corp that understands real life comes first and is helpful to new players so, having recently gone Omega, I think I’m in a good place right now. Personally I would always recommend that new players at least try a game - I’d never tell them not to since everyone enjoys different things.
Sorry to have gone on a bit but the OP made me cross at what seemed to me to be his arrogance in thinking that just because he can’t be bothered to learn the game, he’d try and persuade others not to even try.
