Obviously was expressing my personal opinion, which I’ve even stated in my later posts.
Of course I am and I don’t care how CCP makes their money but how I spend mine. I’d like to see you pay money to CCP when you can no longer undock, to give an extreme example of your logic. Or what are you going to do? Pay them for spinning your ship?! You’re the one who isn’t serious.
It’s all fine and great that you want to play the evil side, but it has a deeper cause to it. You either want to teach others the meaning of loss, or you’re only running away from making the lesson yourself.
When you then cannot let go of a target after hours with no further moves in your pocket then you’re the type who cannot let go, because you’re still afraid of losing.
At what point do you let go and put a “gf” into local?
(shrug) Who knows? And why do you care? If this is not your style of game play, then fine. Do not play the game that way. Otherwise, what has it to do with you? In all seriousness.
You have absolutely no way of knowing whether being “afraid” is the prime motivation or not for wanting to win. Could just be sheer bloody-mindedness.
I thought this could already happen via wardecs (or is that wrong?)? Are you advocating that those also be dispensed with? (No right or wrong here, I am just inquiring).
Again, you have absolutely no way of knowing if there is a “deeper cause” behind any individual’s action(s) or not.
The same argument could be used in any other place. Should people who hellcamp a station in null be teleported away so the paying inhabitants of that station don’t feel they pay CCP for just sitting around? Should you be able to just warp away after 5min if someone has tackled you in a wormhole system and tries to ransom you just because you are a paying customer? If that sounds silly to you, why this is it different when it comes to getting bumped in Highsec?
People don’t play the pirates because they are evil, but because there is loot involved, lots of it.
Yeah, but people do let go of you if you made clear they can’t scam you and if the bump is just for a gank warp-in you don’t get bumped for hours in the first place, except you overstuffed your freighter so much that they actually rally a fleet to kill you, but they are not going to do that if you ship sane amounts.
You have to ask the bumper, I don’t do bumping except to push the occasional Orca out of an ice field
Please, don’t disappoint me now. You’ve either been in the same situation and have made the experience or you still have to make it. Not knowing is your way of saying you haven’t made it yet.
Those who have made it will always let go after a while, because it’s stagnation. Everyone wants progress and move forward. We all count the ISK/hour ratio, tears/hour ratio or killboard score, and we all look to our skill points and number of alts, the total net worth and what not in this game.
Learn to play the game.
Alright. I respect that. I know you make many good arguments on this forum and I didn’t take you as the “scared ganker” kind. You’ve said it yourself, there is loot involved … or some other kind of reward and you do measure your success in EVE by it. Stagnation is a “game killer” for all of us.
He haven’t done so the past 10+ years so I think it’s kind of too late by now.
No, it is not.
Hahahahaha
Someone who bumps people for hours, has probably worked out a way to make real money out of it.
Been a while since i read a post like this.
OP if you are waiting for CCP to handle this “crime” you will wait a very long time, its an intended mechanic, CCP and Concord arent there to protect you, they just give out the consequences, and there are none in this case aside from your loss as nothing that happened is against any of the games rules.
TL;dr good luck, fly safe not stupid (next time do a safe log or something)
beeing stupid have a price.
probably true at least in terms of game time. I would unironically bump you for 12h+ if I have the chance of looting 500000 plex
Unironically or not, I don’t believe it would take you more than 15min-30min to drum together a fleet to finish this quickly and before somebody else does. Mention 1000 months worth of game time in local and half of EVE would be in the system in that time, if only to watch it happen or for the loot fairy to say No.
the biggest issue hear is people want to ein the game with no effort at all.
they want to become space rich by hitting the warp button.
at least this is what freighter pilots tend to believe.
the ganker on the other hand if he bumps you for hours. puts effort into this game.
he cant do anything as long as he pumps you.
also in the first place he needs to find a target that is worth
the effort and stupid enough to fall for the tricks.
he needs buddys to help him and therefore he needs social skills.
the average hauler on the other hand.
wants to pilot safly without taking a risk.
cant make friends to support him
he doesn’t support others if this would have a negative effect on his wallet.
basically a lazy ■■■■
im greedy I don’t like sharing with locals
I sympathise with you, But surely, you must have suspected that the “helpful” person waiting in the most notorious gank spot in EVE might not have your best interests at heart, especially as you are flying a loaded ship that will make them rich if they gank it. The macharial had only one Job, to keep you there until either they got a suicide catalyst fleet together until they could kill you, or until you did something like you did. One way or another, you were going to die.
Now I DO agree that the bumping mechanic, is basically unfair, as there is no action you can take as a solo player that can prevent your death at NO cost or risk to the bumper ( other than safe log assuming no one suicided you in a rookie ship to give a combat timer. PS don’t let the bumper know you are considering that).
sorry for you having to learn such a hard lesson this way.
edit: considering how long he bumped you for implies he DIDN’t have friends to call on, which makes it even more annoying for you. especially as it gave you time to call on friends, to bump the bumper, or gank him in turn.
A ganker who bumps somebody for hours but hasn’t any friends can equally be seen as “dumb and lazy”. And I’ve said it several times in other threads, this game doesn’t just have safety geeks playing it, who need to do all the math before undocking and counting their eggs. Many play risky just for the fun and thrill of it, only sometimes it’s the geek type, who gets wrecked and then you may see them complain. But it’s just their way of dealing with the situation they’ve brought themselves into as obviously they’ve forgotten to do their homework. Risk players know the risk and don’t complain afterwards, at best they troll.
Wow I guess this is what happens when carebears don’t get ganked while they’re still new. Good thing highsec isn’t a free-for-all anymore since James 315 took over in 2012.
so if this is true its even play ground and nothing could ever happen to you.
he probably cant alpha you on his own and for this you are safe.
and get the opportunity to get your alt and or friend in place to counter his gank attempt.
or on the other hand he needs you to be off grid so Randoms wont steal his well deserved loot
and if bumping is his only goal who the ■■■■ cars?
its only your tears he is after and you have the time to safe log call friends and what not.
he has no friends to back him up he loses
you don’t have friends to back you up you lose
no one has friends its even playing field anyway.
and if both of you have friends to odds are heavily in favor for the hauler to win this
I used to mine a lot in hig sec never lost a barge to gankers.
and code tried to but I simply gave a ■■■■ and was aware of the counters.
I believed code used to be some cringy larpers and could not se them do any damage at least to me.
but I start to think they unironic improve the game by ganking retards.
all that code dose is showing you your own retardation if you get gaked by them.
ether you are smart enough to adapt.
or you will stay retarded and wont improve the game with your presence.
win win
