Why did you grapple the gila without attacking him?

My original plan was to take out the Gila first, but with the 3 Scythes on field that made it a bit tricky, especially as he could warp out so i lost DPS to my Sirens, i saw they had a bubbler with them so i grappled him to keep him nice and close to me and inside the bubble, after the fight continued on a bit i thought it best to engage the rest and just leave the Gila till last and use the full 3 flights of light fighters on him.
