reading through this thread and linked Blogs with accompanying screen grabs of EVEmails sent.
there are people in CODE that are regularly breaking CCPs EULA and harassment policies.
i would posit that this is almost as bad as the Bonus room incident and should be thoroughly investigated by CCP.
i come from a self greifing alliance that wrote the rule book on highsec ganking, CODE just wrote the second Ed. there are plenty of bad people in EVE there are also some really great ones. for the OP to come out and open the gates on some of the less desirable practices of some of the CODE players great. the reasons for this dont matter! the fact remains that there are players in CODE (the OP included) that actively pursue post gank aggression in the form of harassment using in game and out of game channels

We had a strict policy of self greifing, we wholly condemned smack talk in local unless it was directed at our selfs. we would hunt each other and kill each other if we did not partake in alliance arranged activities (as agreed by the whole alliance) like Hulkageddon 1 - 4. because of how we operated people stuck around, they understood our ROE and participated willingly. we did have some toxic members but they quickly found out that eve and our alliance was not the place for them
We where the biggest bunch of self deprecating idiots that have ever graced the space-lanes. sadly CCS constant changes have alienated a large portion of the alliance that no longer plays actively.

Ive tried to get intra coalition pvp going, but no one is interested these days and the fact mutual wars are mechanically broken atm means its unlikely to happen in the future.

OP, EVE is a super immersive game. It is very easy to fall down any number of rabbit holes here if you let yourself. When I was in EVE University, I knew guys who got so wrapped up in whatever was happening in the Uni at that moment that they were causing themselves all kinds of undue stress and probably exacerbating any mental health issues that they may have had. Same thing when I was in CODE. I’ve even been in that situation myself.
The thing to do when you realize this is happening is to log off and quit EVE. Then go outside and get some fresh air and exercise. Odds are you will be back in 6 months or a year anyway, with a whole new perspective.
The thing not to do is to project your own issues on the people around you, and declare them to be the problem.
I’ve been an Agent of the New Order almost since the beginning. I was a CODE. CEO myself for a few months. I wasn’t a huge fan of being in the alliance itself, because like any alliance there is a certain amount of politicking and interpersonal drama that those of us at the director level can’t avoid being involved in. But in general, the New Order community is one of the most positive, supportive, and family friendly organizations in the game. I don’t regret my experiences as an Agent for a moment. I am proud to have known and flown with many of the permabanned heroes of the New Order.
New Eden needs the New Order, or something like it anyway. It will be the end of this game when James 315 finally hangs up his hat.

For me? People at work will say that im the most nicest, helpful guy ever. I frequently stay later and help people, even though I know im not going to be paid overtime. I stay around these forums and help new players all the time.
And Im a part of Code and gank.
I will send mails to people after I gank, telling them why it happened, and about the Code and New Order, and how to prevent it. You may consider this as “Going above and beyond these activities”, and Ive certainly received death threats and swear words. But we will get to that later.
Thing is, im sure there are people, people like you, who become a part of CODE just for the ego boost, or just to fulfill their own self-entitlement and self-importance. Just like people who become Law Enforcement officers in real life, just so that they can feel as though they can act like a bully to civilians. Im sure it happens.
But Im not stupid enough to say that all Cops are like that. I have plenty of Police officer friends, including the CEO of my Corp, who are police officers, and are really nice and generally cool guys to hang out with.
The fact that you find a bad apple doesnt mean the entire crop needs to be thrown out. The fact that a single bad person, like you, joined CODE for the wrong reasons, doesnt mean that Code itself is a bad organization.

Is there anything in-game that would justify sending someone a death threat?
You may say “Yeah, thats bad, but the guy was angry, it was a moment of passion”. Sure, anger makes us do things we regret. And yet, I could never think of a situation where i would get so angry that i would Punch my girlfriend in the face. People who do that, arent just being angry. Its who they are. And thats a problem with them, not the problem of the person who made them angry.
People who rage, people who leave, are just that. Its part of their nature. Its part of who they are. Ive been ganked, ive been suspect baited and lost ships. I stayed. Because thats who I am.

If enough new players leave the game it will certainly lower the games intake of new revenue and will definitely negatively impact the game for all in a number of ways, the least of which is new players are more likely to buy plex to help skill their character up faster than normal which goes a long way to keep this game alive with new content by providing new revenue to the dev’s.

And this whole thread also shows how CODE. gets rid of them naturally in the end. They always crash like that. We had several people like this guy over the years and they don’t stay long. Self important kids who can’t separate the game from reality and take everything to serious.
In the end this is just a computer game and we just like to explode pixels and have a good time. If you don’t get that and think you are super special, go join ag.
