Probably the biggest issue with this kind of game play is that you risk training your mind to think in a certain way.
I’ve ganked someone who was brand new to the game once on his live stream. Sent him a message saying “Welcome to Eve Online!” and the guy legitimately got a kick out of it and at the end of the day I helped him deliver content to his viewers. Nothing about my intent was malicious. It was fun.
But if I tried to “extract salt from his tears” then the requirements to activate the reward center in my brain is what will leave the game when I turn it off. That’s what I fear the most, which is why that’s the only time I’ve done it - one funny moment and nobody was even upset.
I have ganked quite a few people now who have thanked me for ganking them, telling me how boring mining is and how delighted they are to finally see content. The fact that antigankers say I’m making this up, is proof they are totally out of touch with normal players. Gankers aren’t bullies, they are rock stars and saints.

Having a hard time seeing what any of this is supposed to prove.
First, this exchange I had with Lewak was long after the Ward episode.
Second, Lewak and I now both agree that you are, in fact, the problem. You are the one who is unable to build solid relationships with anyone and turn your back on your fellow CODE members sooner or later. You are the one who defames people behind their backs (you’ve done it with Ward, I, and Lewak).
We’ve made amends with each other and Ward, and all the kills you’ve been getting are not your doing. You simply [explicit] on juicy kills. Also, CODE. was indeed dead after the Ward episode for no less than 4 months.
I have no problem with ganking. I see the problems with CODE at their poorly formatted blog. Beyond the inability to sort through the posts, it’s primary goal is to humiliate. This behavior is where CODE crosses the line.
I regularly chat with some CODE agents and other ganking groups, I prefer people who intend to tutor and correct players rather than to chastise them and drive them off. GSF Tactical Narcotics ganking group does quite well at this. When ganked you are invited to the chatroom “WTF Just Happened”, where several veteran players will provide tips for ensuring that newer players are aware of how they can prevent subsequent ganks.
I’ll be honest, I hate the James cult worship, I hate the weirdness of the roleplay. I especially hate the the Blog. I’ve never been ganked by CODE, I even attempted baiting agents, unsuccessfully.
Having read the blog, you’d know that all you need to do to get ganked is be a goofus and fly ridiculous ships stuffed with overpriced guff through densley populated regions at peak time.
