This is probably the single best thing you can do.
we found most of our best recruits (and later good friends) were lads & lassies (yes girls do infact play eve) that we shot in the face.
its a fantastic litmus test of a pilot , you can tell a hell of a lot about someone with an open chat window and their still warm corpse in your trunk.
some people will give you endless tirades of vitriol and toxic this and sociopath that , these people get laughed at and shot in the face again if possible.
the odd time though some will take it well and may even laugh about it , these people are what we looked for because internet knife fighting space ships is fun with good people , especially if the can get over losing something they worked for.
combat probes help too, which is honestly at least half the reason for the mission flipping thing.
seriously though , combat probing and d-scan hunting are invaluable skills which is why we tell newbros to get into exploration.
