Impending Warpath event

Why would the component not be worth buying, as long as the finished good can be sold for a profit?

Markets 101: Empires split. Inter-regional components become scarce. Demand for rigs stays constant (or increases due to war losses). Entrepreneurs see opportunity for profit, and smuggle inter-regional components. Component supply increases. Price falls until it reaches equilibrium with demand.

Net result: Rigs become more expensive, but also more profitable to produce (e.g., a 5% margin on a rig at 100m is more profit than a 5% margin on a rig at 20m).

EDIT to add: The smart money will be stockpiling such goods right now for huge short-term gains in the immediate aftermath of any inter-Empire disruption.

Just who are you addressing here? Me? @Dyver_Phycad ? Who is “diverging to Safety all the time?” Said group has been mentioned precisely once before your little rant. Genuinely mystified.

Oh, you mean like they’re finally splitting each empire into highsec islands, connected only through lowsec or null?

That’s genuinely very exciting if so. Fingers crossed.

trigs arent aliens. Best conjecture is they are early jovian that simply went too far and evolved their tech in a drastically different environment which makes them fairly powerful back in new eden.

I was in TEST at the time, and we only had some half-full kitchen sink fleets that participated occasionally. There was certainly no major effort going in there compared to where our other activities were at. Even Vily didn’t push people to fight for the Trigs. He only mentioned that if you can, go and help the Trigs out, but that was it. It was barely brought up at all.

Wily lied, Niarja died!

Hes replying to Dyver.

Either way, dont pay much attention to Asgidur. Hes a split personality with several alts on this forum. All of them spew jibberish that nobody can understand…ever.

I have very little confidence it will be relevant or fun. CCP flew off those rails 5 years ago.

I expect more tedium. Less efficiency. More ship class gated content. Less reward. Herding and funneling PVE players into unwanted PVP gate camps or to be used as bait in Low/Null…

It’s so dull and bland at this point.

You clearly don’t understand ‘build yours’ when you can’t build anything without all corners of the map and 27 hours in the day.

Remind us the value of Edencom ships again??

What’s that? They’re worthless?? oh ok.. thx, CCP.

They have their niche though.

I hope 4-4 goes abandoned and gets popped and then the server dies as all the cans spam out of it.

I’d like to point out something completely different. Over the past six months, there have probably only been two weeks without any events. PLEX is constantly changing, crowds of players are chasing ISK, while other crowds are chasing them. The chats are full of talk about ISK, PLEX, and events. Think about this. Every seller wants to tie the buyer to the product. And ССP has developed a habit of keeping players tied to events. Everyone loves free stuff, right? An event just ended where they give out SP, skins, and ISK, and then we’re immediately given another one with SP, PLEX, and skins. What’s next, another one, and another? Think about those people who get hooked on the game out of greed or free stuff. There are such people, and there are more of them than you think. And when they’re constantly stuck in events, they stop doing anything in their real lives.

People get some kind of substitute meaning, an action that isn’t developmental, but profitable, or seems profitable. This isn’t what truly develops in the game or the game itself; it’s some imitation of a holiday, usually where everyone thinks about how to make more money from it, even if it’s pointless and uninteresting. Listen, how long should we make these huge strips? Continued? Was a month not enough? How about two, three, four?
I tell you, guys, let’s pick one day, have a drink live on air, and get back to our business, without all these contrived 60-day holidays.

solo player huh??

does mean yo never interact with the market??? ever?

Players left to their own devices had all but won it handedly.

CCP then hired the Goons to make it fall to the Trigs. No random highsec kitchen sink fleets can compete with a major alliance in an objective based scenario. And, no, they didn’t do it b/c of TEST. Funny how they come in, reverse a system players were winning overnight and just bounce. Where were they for all the other systems TEST claimed involvement with? Why such a big focused push on Niarja out of the blue? TEST didn’t even do anything special in Niarja. Goons probably got BPO and who knows what else behind the scenes. Such dealings have been exposed before.

And no one enjoyed it. It was a repetitive slog. And I mean SLOG that anyone who cared about the state of game was effectively forced to participate in. Anyone claiming otherwise is a liar. No human being could possibly find it enjoyable. It’s psychologically impossible.

Goons won it. Niarja falling had nothing to do with random trig aligned players. You had clearly failed and then in non-peak hours Goons came in and gave it to the trigs literally overnight at the behest of CCP.

Okay Mr. Jones, let’s calm it down with the conspiracy theories.

The reality is, a bunch of us saw Niarja was being contested, said “Oh man, that would be fun to flip”, and went off to do it. Our reward? Posts like yours even now, five years later.

ccp doesnt need to hire any players to do anything in this video game. If CCP wanted niarja to fall, it wouldnt have been an optional fight.

Goons got involved because Test got involved. This is normal for null. If one group makes a move in highsec, others will also. This is to keep power balanced. You may not like it, but that is how it is done.

Many players wanted to see the highway between jita and amarr gone. For people putting things on market, it makes perfect sense. That distance means amarr serves a bigger population, which means products move faster.

This is nothing but a half-baked conspiracy theory based entirely on your own bias towards the swarm.

You didnt enjoy it. You can not speak for anyone except yourself.

How dare people need to participate in a massive game changing event where players can impact not only the story but other players!

Couldn’t care less. I also rarely participate in the events. Winter Nexus, and now the Gallente Election being the exceptions.
