Don’t want to screw anything up, so just checking my info.
For clarification, running EVE through Steam on Linux Mint. My install path is ~/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/8500/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/EVE, and i’ve made an Overview directory there, which research indicates is the right spot. Supposedly copying old .xmls to this folder will allow me to import them ingame. Wanted to check with the community before proceeding.
Anyone out there have experience with importing old prefs?

To answer my own question, for anyone reading. Yes you can successfully import old .xml Overview prefs!
Still need some manual adjustments, but good starting point.
I know you can save the overview and import it, but what I do is clone my clone’s entire UI. It is a lot easier than one might think. My good friend John wrote about this, I am not going to bother to look up his post, so I think I can explain it here.
Windows Menu Search Bar, open %APPDATA% this will put you in AppData\Roaming
Navigate to AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_ccp_eve_tq_tranquility\settings_Default
Everything in here is your settings;
Files that start with core_char_ are your individual character settings. I keep a master character file and when the settings get all weird I use it as a template for all the rest.
If you have more than one account;
Files that start with core_user_ are those account settings.
You can set one character up the way you like and exit the game. Go to the files and look at the most recent file updated. Now you have your master file.
