Introducing the HyperNet Relay

they have said you can write to customer support and get it hidden from you…because gambling addicts will definitely do that.

Yep, looking at it on Sisi you only need to buy one Hypercore to list an item, and it doesn’t seem to alter if you adjust the number of nodes or the bidding price.*

ed, the number of Hypercores required does increase as you increase the total value of the raffle

Hold the hell on CCP

So you guys ban every website that does this exact thing and the introduce it your self but require plex store items in order make it function? WTF? you guys cannot be that dense.

These shouldn’t be through the plex store at all, these should be NPC goods bought with isk off the market

the tokens should come in
1.1 million
11 million
110 million
1.1 billion

So, not only is the purchesing of these items taxed, They are slightly over priced to help suck isk from the universe. So everything after the decimal and the 1 mill extra from the 11 million token and the 10 mill more for the 100 mill token go right into the void. This would suck a lot of money out of the universe.

Next the seller is also taxed at 1-5% when their item sells.

At least in this system it doesn’t require plex but if people want to spend loads of money they can buy plex for isk. It helps remove isk from the game and that has been something lacking for a decade.

The fact that you guys have the balls to literally use the plex shop for this, im disgusted

If I understand correctly and it implements gambling (buy tickets and some random ticket will win) into EVE Online I am very disappointed…
Shame, but once this gets implemented EVE will run the last straight into collapse :frowning:

So, this is totally gambling. I can’t see it as anything else. Good luck passing this through EU laws.

So, who sets the price of the nodes? And by winning, when I read through it the first time it seemed like it auto-magically teleported the item to the new location. I sure would love to see private corp / alliance level raffles that we can go all the way down the rabbit hole at once.

Also, I did not see information on how much of a cut of the total node sales the seller / auctioneer of the item being raffled gets in the end.

I didn’t ask for this. I remember what I did ask for, and this isn’t it. Nice seeing familiar faces here. Will be back to watch the sky fire and I will bring enough marshmallows for everyone.

Oh and lets not forgot the ability to RMT with this system now. This system is massively exploitable to RMT.

You screwed the pooch so hard on this one CCP its amazing. You screwed up bookmarks but removing all vouchers even after your devs in the thread about the bookmarks said “we understand the problem with selling escalations and want to keep that functionality” and then you ■■■■■■ it.

Ever since blackout you guys have been pushing horrible idea after horrible idea. The only one that seems to have any clue is the team pushing the quick ship updates like faster warp speed.

To run this specific scam, you would need to start off with a pretty large bankroll… but if you start w/smaller items and run the scam a few times, you’ll get there, and pretty soon you’ll be able to do it with the big-ticket items, yeah.

The seller gets all the ISK from selling the nodes. CCP gets their cut up front when he/she pays for the nodes in the first place. Basically:

Seller pays PLEX to get the book of raffle tickets, price based on the value of the item.
Seller then puts up the tickets for whatever ISK per ticket he likes.
Raffle goes off when all tickets sell. Lucky gambler gets item cheap. Seller makes bank. Unlucky gamblers spend more $$ to get more PLEX to sell, so they can keep gambling.

Well then you have a 50% chance of winning the item yourself.

Scenario
Let’s take it to an extreme: you buy 100% of your own nodes and are certain to win your own item. The only winner will be CCP, who sold you the HyperCores in order for you to start the raffle.

It’s not smart to buy your own nodes in any way, unless (1) you want to do the raffle now and are in a hurry and cannot be bothered to wait for more people to buy nodes, or (2) you like giving CCP money.

Buying any number of nodes for any chance at getting your item back is not going to help you at all, as it’s only going to get you closer to the scenario I explained above. In the end CCP will be the winner.

Yea, if you’re lucky you could win. But if you’re unlucky you’ll lose. Being lucky is not the same as being smart, and neither is being lucky considered an exploit.

Api ! Please give use api !

Notice at the end of the devblog it states:

HyperNet Relay is available on the Singularity test server today and will be officially launched on 10 December with the Free Market Release.

It does solicit feedback in the link, but if the last few implementations are anything to go by, this is going in unchanged regardless of feedback. Personally, I’d rather just break it on launch in hilarious ways. Sure it’ll like having 10,000 BPCs and individual fedos/exotic dancers listed.

Glad to see CCP encourages underaged gambling. This system is morally degenerate and if you have even a modicum of ethics you will renege on this update. CCP, you are as bad as cigarette companies that addict underaged minors to nicotine.

How does this not break any online gambling laws?
