It’s a ploy to make real money off of existing content. CCP has been spanked before by us for doing such things. Now it is just a way to gamble. Not to mention the exploits that can be created. Taking isk out of Eve and replacing it with real money seems to be the slow goal fo CCP
100% right
CSM isn’t defending anything here. Steve made a handful of comments, and Dunk asked folks to stop being asshats.
One of the things they’ve learned is to ignore the stuff people say in the first day, and instead wait a little while and see what the feedback shows once people have had a chance to digest things without the groupthink and knee-jerk whining.
They can’t make the CSM respond, they can’t stop the CSM from responding. They’ve already made the decision to add this to the game - the debate over should they is beyond over. They really only want feedback on the feature itself, which almost no one (here) is providing.
The real answer is likely that they weren’t ready with the final details and approvals and didn’t want to promise something that might not actually happen at Vegas. London was short on anything substantive because the format didn’t include a keynote, and they didn’t make many major announcements. I was there, and I was mostly bored.
Many of them read a lot of this stuff. They just don’t comment.
Aye ccp has been yelled at before. I personally love the isk sink they released, 5% transaction on all the raffles both legit and scam will help reduce the amount of isk in the economy. I personally may rarely participate, depending on the price and reward.
Thank you, its good that your nice for once.
We’ll have to wait for it to be released for feedback to be anywhere reliable.
Yeah cool, just go be stupid elsewhere. Better yet, go get scammed for billions again to show just how smart you are. Lul.
Of course they consulted legal. They would have been nuts to even start development on something like this without some kind of guidance document on what they could and couldn’t do under the relevant legal regimes.
As much as we like to kick these guys around, they do have lawyers, and those lawyers aren’t going to let them waste time and money on something they can’t introduce into the game.
Lol scamming is a part of the game, why get angry over pixels? Also your name is very familiar, didn’t we kick you from corp for being toxic?
You’re saying that with a straight face? Despite their history and previous examples? Wow…
Agreed, its going to be implemented.
Nope. I left cos you’re a scamming slave-corp and as a newbro I could see that. But gj on remembering so quickly…
lol, funny how everyone who is jealous of us says we are a slave corp, how do we treat our slaves then?
I don’t think that is a good way to proceed. The reason for the complaints is because gambling is just that, gambling. It does not matter what pretty box and ribbon it is tied up in the fact is people will be placing money on a random outcome that lots of people are involved in.
I understand their logic with mechanical changes to the game which affect game play, but this is straight up gambling.
Even if it was gambling, like 50 Euros for a chance at a CCP dev to facetime you for 10 minutes, what is the problem? I feel like people in EVE hate gambling more than Victorian England hates sex. Why suddenly everyone becomes a moral fanatic when it comes to gambling?
Because it wrecks lives.
i enjoy a good isk sink. it has to provide something fun. but this system is a poor design. we have collectively informed ccp what we want out if eve. instead the time is spent assembling a money making scheme instead of fixing wanted content or solving unwanted problems
- Bc it is morally wrong and has been shown to be damaging to a vast number of people and 2) Victorians were notoriously promiscuous and free with their sexual partners.
Learn things fool.
My flight landed.
I disagree, its one of the best ‘sins’. It does no damage to you physically, the only issue is learning discipline and restraint, which is easy.
