Introducing the HyperNet Relay

test server shows it can be bougjt for isk, and plex…

uhm,
1st Steve: I was not making any argument on being legit or not legit.

2nd Steve: So I dont really care about your commentary, since it happens all the time (ppl buying stuff). I mean you read Reddit right? and even CCP has admitted to not have caught everyone that does that garbage.

3rd Steve: In case you missed it, my only argument was that a Titan costs a bit more than $80

Oh Hi Steve!

on the test server titan cost like 600k isk or less…maybe 60k im dislexic probably…

tested it out on sisi, it was cool and fun…agree with this guy.

There are zero “legit” or “regulated” sites that will allow you to purchase a Titan for $500-$1200.

Such things as gambling shouldn’t be part of a video game.

You have to figure a system like this takes time to develope right, may e 6 months maybe years, so that being said, wouldnt you think that a company as great as CCP, who is rich AF, dont you think they contacted their lawyera and ran it through a screening process to ""clear it through the regulators? Come on man…spend your money where you like.

i will take 10 packs of hypernode token things please. ty.

So this is a platform which players can set up lotteries for others, who must pay real life $ to participate.
Basically a cash grab, right?

This will get EvE banned from Steam, and several countries.

For ppl thinking this isn’t gambling, you might want to check your definitions.

  1. Can you use real money in a game of chance

As both ISK and the nodes are connected to real money, (just like casino tokens) the answer is absolutely yes.

No, you were trying to imply that Titans had a “real world cash value” of $500 - $1200. Which is patently FALSE.

This doesn’t actually help your argument since it’s something unrelated to the Hypernet Relay. So if you were trying to suggest that “because people buy and sell Titans for $500 - $1200, they have a ‘real world cash value’ of $500 - $1200” you are WRONG.

Uhm, yes you were.

Or are you unable to read the very words you type yourself?

I suggest reporting EvE on steam here:

(scroll down and click the flag next to SHARE and EMBED).

If gambling (without a license at least) is illegal in your country, you should report it as
“Legal Violation - Contains content that violates the laws in your jurisdiction”

I would recommend not giving out legal advice, since you just opened up several cans of worms there, most of which require extensive work to explain. the simple answer is if you complain about it, its not going away. CCP will not cave, this thing has been in development for a long time most likely, and it serves a definite purpose in game. my best guess is that it will be used, extensively by people who want to raffle off rare goods that are hard to find in the current contract system, as ccp already stated.

This will be an interesting feature for T2 BPO owners.

It’s called the slippery slope for a reason

mine ore. take ore sell it in jita/ peri. take funds from ore isk and buy mods. sell mods in low and null non hubs for 50x markup. profit. never mine again…except that i do because i like it.[quote=“Brisc_Rubal, post:113, topic:203064, full:true”]
Sorry, but I’m going to have to disagree with this one. First, we are all adults here (most of us). Gambling addiction is a legitimate issue, but it impacts a very small percentage of the population - generally between .5% and 1% from most of the data I’ve seen, although a bit more in the US (like 2.5%). I would be fine with CCP providing a way to opt out of the system for those who are concerned they can’t use it appropriately, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to take the option away completely from the 98% of the population who don’t have an addiction and will use it responsibly.

In fact, as far as I can tell, video game addiction itself has higher rates of occurrence.

In the end, the decision about whether to participate should be left with the individual

Oh hi Brisc.
agree.
