All those complainers simply can’t take the fact that ccp (and some reasonbale people in the forum) simply see the need to make EVE more…hm…markatable in order to survive…
And yes,this means MORE casual,LESS hardcore…something i demand for YEARS now…finally CCP sees the light…
And it also means that all of your complains will lead to nothing…the course is set and all your whining about it will be just YOUR tears…

I seriously HATE this decision. Last time they allowed online gambling, we had the Casino War. It was terrible. It also means it becomes a form of pay to win, rather than play to win. We lost our space homes because of it. Besides that, it’s morally corrupt and reduces Eve to capitalism for profit only, rather than actually concentrating on fixing the game that’s got a LOT of balance issues right now. Terrible decision. Just don’t do it CCP!

I believe it opens up the possibility of people abusing this system to RMT and/or exchange winnings for in game isk (whether through third parties or otherwise). It could then be used to finance paying other groups in the game. Also, whenever online gambling goes, organised crime tends to follow. They look for ways to hide their illegal earnings through the drug trade and launder it. Online cryptocurrencies and online gambling, tends to be one easy way for them to launder. What we don’t know is how will these people (third parties) setting up online gambling sites, be vetted? Chances are, CCP will open themselves up to legal suites in OECD countries too. Australia, France and plenty of other countries will be lining up to take them to court. It’s really an unhealthy type of business to get into. Yeah, there’s a lot fo money involved but equally, the risks of becoming havens of corruption are equally great. In short, I don’t think it’s a great business model for legitimate online games companies, to invest in.

If that is what they learned and what Hillmar means by “learning company”, then he needs to quit and move to something else. Waiting and pray that everyone’s opinion will change is the worst possible way to run a company. They got their feedback and they need to back down from this craziness.
WIll disagree. Very easy for CCP to post on the CSM discord channel or call the CSM and tell them that CCP has grown some balls and will now handle the defense of this. And again, they got their feedback
Seriously? Are you really going to try and convince that CCP didnt have this fully ready by Vegas? I would venture they had this ready to go about 6 month ago and for the past 6 month it was in supposed QA testing. And don’t you find it quite “amusing” that as soon as Vegas and London are over with, they release something like this?
If you ever talk to CCP, I would suggest you strongly advise them to grow some balls and start defending their own crap

There is no reason whatsoever to have this integrated with the NES if it’s just about a system that enables raffles but CCP knows exactly what kind of people will blow grandmas inheritance on this ■■■■ and has dollar signs in their eyes. Also already practiclly guarnteed that this will be against the law as soon as regulations catch up with loot boxes. Doesn’t matter that CCP only takes a ‘fixed’ profit per gamble - it’s still an online casino environment.
It’s impertinent to blow dev time on a feature that will be gone again in a few months max just to ride the loot box train as long as it’s still going.
They banned players for this stuff on ‘ethical grounds’ and for ‘potential conflict with the law’ now they do it themselves and make bank in doing so - f-ing hypocrisy.
