Gambling is not bad? tell me one good thing about it? and yes i have to worry about addicted people since mostly them will be affected by this and they can’t control themselves in these situations…they are like children… all the blah blah futuristic and ruthless world… but there are limits… do we really need this ■■■■ content in the game… can’t you trade the rare items like at an auction… or some other less scumbag way! this is wrong approach and i am for one very very disappointed with the CCP… i ve been hurt by gambling a lot in real life… so i know what i am talking about…

Ok, I’m convinced you have no idea what you are talking about.
Legislators don’t care whether you can resell proceeds of what you spent in a game - They care that it is, can be used for gambling.

No, legislators care about revenue for the government, controlling the populace, and enriching themselves. They will make up a definition for something if they think they can skim some revenue off of it for their pet projects.
when 2 % percent have families and friends… they affect much more than just themselves

Curious - When you have kids, would you be ok with them spending your hard earned cash to win something in a game?
How would you be with getting a bill on your credit card for thousands of dollars because your kid wanted to get a lvl 85 pair of boots and the easiest way to get them was via in game gambling.
Try google - Search for gambling in online games - you might just get a clue

I know people that have kids that have done just that… charge thousands on their credit cards for microtransactions. You know what? That is not the game’s fault it is the parent’s. It is a teaching moment.
I would teach my kid properly to manage money and not give them access to my credit card. If they wanted something that required it, then I could get them a prepaid one and put a chunk of cash they are allowed to have.
Try to search for proper parenting techniques before you spew this crap. Not the game’s fault, not the governments problem to legislate and nanny. Take some responsibility for your offspring and how you raise them.

Talk to some parents, listen to the stories of how little Jane managed to use mummies phone to rack up a $15,000 dollar bill playing FB games.
One that was recently in the news here - 7 year old boy in a Dr’s waiting room using moms phone to play his fav game got her a bill of $4,500 in nder an hour.

Ah, here we go. This type of response is usually used by people who don’t know what they’re talking about. They’re used to just throwing a book at the other person and going “here, you read it, you’ll see what I mean!” and then when they get challenged with their own quotes they resort to just shouting incoherent and tangential stuff, hoping they hit enough keywords to confuse the other person.

I have 2 kids, thank you very much. It’s called being a responsible parent and hell, just responsible at all.
It’s a little sad to see people jumping the gun on what they think the law is like this. 
Most people can have a drink and are not alcoholics. Most people can take a weekend and go to the casino and gamble a bit for fun and not lose their life savings. Just because a minor few have problems does not justify taking it away from the masses. Those individuals that can’t control themselves can get help and be managed without punishing the rest of society.
Gambling is gambling no matter the value of what’s being gambled. Gambling in videogames is regarded as a gateway to gambling behavior in the real world and that’s why lawmakers around the world are acting against it.
Also, gambling in videogames usually haves a cost in real currency via microtransaction schemes. And this ploy by CCP is no different, someone must buy PLEX from CCP in order to set up a raffle.
CCP removed gambling with ingame assets because it was an issue and back at the time they didn’t get a cut, now CCP allows gambling again and this time they will get a cut.
Gambling and the issues with it ingame and IRL are the same as when it was removed, the only difference now is CCP getting a share of the business.
