Introducing the HyperNet Relay

If someone stole from me to pay for gambling I would blame the thief not the casino or government. I wouldn’t try to take something away from law abiding citizens because an addict targeted me. I would throw the addict in jail or rehab.

Gaming & game of chance
For the purposes of this Act a person plays a game of chance if he participates in a game of chance—

(a)whether or not there are other participants in the game, and

(b)whether or not a computer generates images or data taken to represent the actions of other participants in the game.

(4)For the purposes of this Act a person plays a game of chance for a prize—

(a)if he plays a game of chance and thereby acquires a chance of winning a prize, and

(b)whether or not he risks losing anything at the game.

No, they don’t. Please show me where this is true.
CCP will never honor your claim to redeem a Titan for $500 - $1200 (dollars or euros or whatever).

This would be in violation of EVE’s rules and your account can be banned for this.

You also need to prove that somehow this makes CCP liable for violating online gaming laws. You’re just talking about two separate things and hoping people are dumb enough to draw a connection where there isn’t one.

Man, you really must be old. Keep up, kid. I’ve already posted this above.

Please tell me where the Hypernet Relay lets people play for a “Prize”.

a) You can’t win real money.
b) You don’t get “money’s worth” since you cannot exchange in-game items for real money.

Sorry, but are you stupid? Since when is buying plex and using the gained isk for things illegal or violates eve rules? whoot? Where are these seperate things? selling plex is different from buying a titan? what?

Actually CCP put a dollar value on ships in the game - See; Battle of B-RB

The in-game cost of the losses totalled over 11 trillion Interstellar Kredit (ISK), an estimated theoretical real-world value of $300,000 to $330,000 USD derived from the value of PLEX, an item purchasable with real currency that can be redeemed either for subscription time or traded for in-game currency.

Buying PLEX from CCP or CCP authorized vendors? - This is okay.
Buying items with real cash from 3rd parties not authorized by CCP? - This is NOT okay.

God you’re dumb. Are you even reading the thing you quoted?
It says the value is derived from the value of PLEX.

It does NOT say that these items have an actual dollar value.

Go to CCP and demand to cash out real dollars for your items. Let me know how that goes. Oh wait, you can’t do that. Because there isn’t an actual real money value to the items. It’s just derived from the value of PLEX.

If you want to buy a titan, have no iskm but some spare money this is the range of money you need to spend on plex to make that happen
I specifically said buying plex. I obviously ment buying it from the official ccp page. How can you misunderstand that? Or tell me that I’m wrong?

LOL, stupid is the one who can’t read.
I never said it breached CCP’s rules but it does breach the laws of many countries when that plex is used to gamble.

Please refrain from posting half assed nonsensical replies.

yeah right… go gamble in place designed for that… you are hopelessly delusional!

That’s cute, still not a violation of the actual Gambling Act of 2005 itself.
You’re just talking about Microtransactions.

I wasnt even talking about gambling… I was talking about straight up buying plex for real money, selling that in jita for isk and using that money to buy a titan of contracts.
Of course this has nothing to do with gambling and I never said so…
I just send 500-1200$ is pretty exactly what ppl have to pay and do pay if they want to get a titan. Therfore thats the money value that the titan has to them or that the CCP-game currently demands, if you want to buy one. There is nothing complicated about it. It has nothing to do with gambling. I just wanted to state that 80$ is completly ridiculous and wrong. 80$ is like 5*500Plex. That is worth like 8,5b and noone ever will sell you a titan for 8,5b, especially not fitted

I did and it is relevant to what you said but i forget you don’t have a clue so keep trying to belittle others by calling them names.

Trolling 101 - When you’ve already lost - call them names.

Talking to you is like talking to my dog - He just looks like he has a clue where you.,.

Cool, now you’re moving goal posts and being off topic. You’re free to shut up and take a seat whenever.

You don’t have to walk anywhere. Use your isk to buy PLEX, then go to the New Eden Store, and buy Omega time. Bang, you’ve just used your isk to buy something worth actual $$$.

This is a pretty simple concept - the game has lasted as long as it has because it’s addicting and people can’t stop playing it. I don’t get why you’re spinning so hard to pretend that the game isn’t addictive. You don’t need spinning lights and buzzers to create addictive gameplay.

And, of course, you jump to the most extreme example, when there are obvious other examples of situations where government doesn’t step in to bar people from engaging in activities that are arguably unhealthy, and that can be particularly bad for the small subset of the population with propensities to addiction. Like I said, governing to protect the 1% from themselves at the expens of something the 99% want to do or at least ambivalent about is a bad idea.

Lol… no you are. Lets see… I can go to a casino, walk in and have any number of card games, dice games, etc where I participate in the game with other players and/or the house. That vs sitting as a vegetable on the sofa watching others play a game on TV. Again, if it’s your cup of tea to sit on the sofa and you don’t prefer a gamble once in a while that is fine, but to say gambling has no entertainment value is incorrect.

Forum lurker here logging on to say this is the least ethical and most vulnerable targeting revenue generating ploy that you have tried to date CCP.

:frowning: << look, that’s how you made me feel

Cool, now tell me a single country where I can walk into a store and spend my Omega gametime and buy something.
