Testing this on SiSi leads me to believe that a high value item will cost an arm AND a leg to setup. The fact that you lose those HyperCores either way will make it less attractive. And you can’t use Keepstars so supers and titans will have to be moved first. So messy.

Dont be silly. Gambling is so different than driving car. Or lifing for that matter. Thats some order of magnitude more complicated and using lots of vectors. Gambling can be compared with games of luck maybe but sports or games are for example different because they take into equation skills, definitely putting accent on motor and mental skills, trying to eliminate randomness by using rules. 
Bad habit, but people learn sometimes when they are burned. Sometimes they dont learn tho. 
Definitely its about how brain functions, and people that proift on gambling doesnt care that they cause other people to suffer. Like psychopaths without empathy.
That is why CCP are the badies here.

They are different but can “ruin” people. So why are you so intent on banning one thing that can ruin a few people and their families but not something that can ruin even more people and their families. Let’s be fair and ban everything that can ruin people or other people. Or maybe we could be fair and focus instead on letting the responsible people have their things and focus on education, rehab, jail, etc for the few that can’t handle themselves.

People are going to gamble on the most stupidest things no matter what. Collage kids will bet on how many flushes it take to wash down a big turd! Does that make them gambling addicts?
Better CCP makes some cash while they can than see it lost on gambling on this game outside their grasp.
Notice how they are DESPERATE not to use the words “Gambling with your hard earned cash in Eve is now a thing!!”
Instead using “nice” words like “Relay” and “free exchange of items”

Yep, one of the deseases of modern civilisation. The form of capitalism where sales justify everything is exactly why we have an ongoing mass extinction on this planet and do nothing about it.
You mean the people that ■■■■ themselves over and then cast aside personal responsibility for their actions and blame the “evil corporations” “the man” “the government” anyone but themselves. Many people partake in all kinds of activities every day and the majority of them do so with little or no problems let alone ■■■■■■■ over their own lives. There is no reason to punish the majority because a few can’t control themselves.
Well, it’s not the end of the world, but its neither the best investment of dev time nor is it sensitive in regards to the gambling addiction issue.
I wish they would of spend the time this took to develop on a citadel and super capital reamp or a redesign of the mind-numbing PvE in this game. But I guess this here makes more RL cash for CCP.
Sadly it’s all skins and other microtransaction BS these days. I miss the original devs.

Very true, but at least the capitalist admit their greedy and steal while facing you, other gov’s steal from behind your back.
But gambling is allways a minus game for the customer.
A round of poker with friends is one thing, corporate organised gambling in front of a monitor is BS.
I could play a game of cards at a casino and spend $X for Y entertainment value.
I could go to the movies and spend $X for Y entertainment value.
In both cases it is a minus game. I lost money. But I gained entertainment. Both are organized by corporations designed to take my money. No different.
