Many items that are only bought on their website can be auctioned like skins which have real life value.
So this meets the requirements for gambling.

lol, The ccp raffle system is 100% legal in the USA. If you read the laws of the countries its legal in most. Might be 1 or 2 euro that it would be close to a legal grey area. Not liking a feature or dis-agreeing with it is one thing. Its another to go this is illegal or they will have to go to x and get a y before they can run it cause i said so; assuming that a company that operates in multi-nations along with a parent company; that also does the same with both having active legal departments would not have checked if it would have been legal before the feature even left prototype is a bit too far on conspiracy theory side of the aliens are coming to eat my brains.
So maybe chat about the raffle it self and its direct issues, instead of trying to kill it out right cause its bad. (on that note there is a fairly happy group of players looking forward to it, but it looks like they are unhappy about lack of features like acl list options and using it in player own structures.)

Why? Killing it is the best possible outcome. Even if you set aside the potential legal issues and gambling addiction itâs still F2P cash shop trash that will inevitably lead to more F2P cash shop trash once CCP sees that they can get away with more than just ship skins and character transfer fees.
While i agree its not ideal to add it without sticking to isk only, the final number and ratios have not been released. Iâm waiting until the final numbers are out before making any more judgements. The plex to hyper ratio will be the key. if it too small like 10 to 1 yeah its not good at all, however a 500 to 1 ratio wouldnât be that bad. If they increased plex usage a bit more and that in turns is a few more bucks for them with no real harm than its fine with me. I personally dont see it as a f2p model opening charge that is the end of all. Instead, more like a stopper to ease over a tiny bit of over abuse that eating a plex might bring (abuse though by the ultra rich tho will not be affected by any money based counters so plex isnât something one should try to use if its the case). Its hard to say tho without csm minutes or actual ccp comments on there intent. CCP has generally always launched every âfinishedâ feature or item like the mono and other aur stuff regardless of pre-release âunhappinessâ .
The best option in the end is to eat the bullet on the first day as always, truly see the feature for what it truly is then riot like madmen if it goes poorly with the entire player-base in support. Too much i dont like it cause of wild theory ahead of time will just be blown off as crying once enough of the same people keep hitting on anything else said regardless of intent of the poster that could be consider in favor of it (there have been a few in this thread already doing that, which only hurts any valid points made against said feature).
This could have been a fun little in-game diversion/mechanic⊠but then you had to monetise it, just like everything else that has failedâŠ

With â10 for 1 PLEXâ at the current market value, a HyperCore will cost approximately 332,500.00 ISK.
The value (you set) divided by 6,653,762.4 will give you the number of HyperCores required to set the HyperNode up. It comes out to roughly 5% for setting up the HyperNode and another 5% Tax when/if your item sells. If it doesnât sell in 3 days you lose your setup cost but retain your item.

I didnât really bother going past that. It was said (I think on the CSM discord) that itâs supposed to be working off intervals of ~6.5M, and that seems to hold steady, with the first 6.5-ish being â0â, but auto-bumped to â1â as a minimum.

Yes it IS gambling. Thatâs why people like me and many many others spent thousands of real world pounds/dollars/euros on iwantisk and somerblink raffles. Which are 100% the same as hyperlinks. You can trade real world money for isk. So it is gambling. The fact that you canât trade money out doesnât stop the addiction (trust me!) Winning ships was the prize and it feld good to win.
