Invasion content biased toward EDENCOM

What type of PvE? Not including PvE that specifically exposes you to the risk of PvP (like wormhole sites), the only type I can think of is Abyssal that can be suitable for that purpose. Everything else is either done in a group (like incursions), or is very predictable and controlled (like missions).

Abyssal content is the only specifically-PvE content that has ever given me the shakes. I ended a site with exactly 1 second to go once. That was like a bucket of cold sweat right there.

This is a 12 yr old toon. That was then, this is now. Things are way different now for new players. There are for more articulate bitter old vets who can explain better than I.

I didn’t learn of sisi for a long time. So I had to learn the hard way. Frankly, it worked for me. With good advice and support from the corp, I sweated out the training skills and did pve to sharpen up. Take on more than you think you can chew. Just do it where it’s quiet and you watch local, D-scan, etc.

One NRVER gives up one’s hard learned tactics in public. :grinning:

Fair enough.

And yeah, things changed quite a bit in that regard over time. Content was a bit more mysterious and novel back then, even if there was less of it.

You Sir, would be a terror at PVP the way you post on the forums!

Edit; you just have to get used to it. Good friends help.

What I think:
EVE action is placed in future. In that future you cant hide from any empire or pirate identification software when you interact. Informations about you are gathered everywhere, capsule is connected whole time to your brain and what are you doing is known to CONCORD. You will be always known by system database, at least when sitting in your capsule. Consequences in standings and security status are a direct effect of highly technicized society where information about you is valuable and is used for directing your actions.

That is why I think the game have legs to stand on. DYSTOPIA. You can run but you cant hide.

Dystopia is a community or society that is undesirable or frightening. It is translated as “bad place” and is an antonym of utopia

Imagine people in government know everything about you. :eye:

If you’re gonna go the RP route, we can also say that it’s possible to hack the hardware and the networks.

Standings as they are in EVE today make no sense anyway in that regard. In a realistic system, just a single murder of another pilot, or a CONCORD agent, or a navy officer of some empire or whatever, would permanently blacklist you and make you arrest/kill-on-sight to all lawful factions and forces. But that would be unequivocally game-breaking, wouldn’t it?

Not without consequences tho. I think CCP could have set of skills for pirates, or implants that would act on statistics. Social skills already act sort of that way.

You cant kill capsuleers and CONCORD tho. Capsuleers have always a clone that have its consciousnes transfered.
The noncapsuleer pilots of another factions are another matter, but CONCORD doesnt seem to be interested about them, only empires. CONCORD desnt like pirates tho.

You never know how technology might malfunction, so any attempt to kill someone even if they technically shouldn’t be affected by it over the long term would still be treated as attempted murder.

It is treated as attempted. Your security status is used for that.
Marshal even have bonus that works with it.

Okay, well, how many attempted murders should a person get away with before law enforcement shoots them unless they surrender instantly, get detained, stand trial, etc.? I’m guessing it’s exactly one, instead of however many it takes in CONCORD’s eyes before a person reaches -5.0 on their silly, arbitrary scale.

It’s a dumb system, but it exists this way today because this is a video game. We can’t use reality and logic to explain this away, because that just won’t work.

Yes, but you forgot, nobody have to like it. DYSTOPIA.

I really can‘t understand why people are so impatient. I am sure CCP will tweak the one or the other parameter, if the result will be too stagnant or too wild.
I remember when CCP first introduced Faction Warfare. In the first few days I thin all Amarr systems where conquered by Minmatar or vice versa… CCP tuned some parameters afterwards to avoid that fast pendulum swings.
Maybe this time CCP was just too conservative and cautious and I am sure they will adapt EVE if needed.

Going with what you said sounds like PVE fleets siding with Edencom are bringing bigger force, and more fleets into these systems than those who are siding with the trigs. I did one system with a fleet that was pro EDENCOM and there was just more fleets with more people on their side and I did noticed that those who were with the trigs were allot smaller. Until bigger fleets and more of them come in to fight along side of the trigs then Edencom will be dominant.

I think what’s the case here is that you are making common mistake that the botter bar of the status has anything to do with the upper one - it does not - upper bar is the bare for current stage, bottom bar on it’s own indicate stage it is in.

What You did expect is the stalemate - for 2.5 days bar did not move beyond certain undisclosed treshold.
Therefore it timed out the invasion.

The way it does handle the timeout itself, CCP Sledgehammer have confirmed on Edencom discord is not satisfactory and they want to “fix it” to drop it into minor victory for the side it got the progress towards.

Other thing that could happen - was that proper minor victory happened when you have hit the end of the bar. These are unlisted on agency window, And do happen both sides - the story there is that the side have technically won, but both sides decided that there is nothing worth fighting for in there. Hence lack of escalations.

I hope I have cleared something up

For the first few days minor victories did not exist, invasions just stopped when recon bar reached one or the other side. Minors were added due to people being confused about that behaviour

That is actually incorrect, comrade. We won the system, and the invasion simply stopped. They added ‘minor victory’ later to somewhat explain it away, but, I was there at Aldik. It was a Triglavian victory. Nothing happened.

I hope I have cleared something up.
