Invasion knowledge share

True that. Then again, the Hentogaria site is big … 6 minor conduits, 4 majors and with other minors in the adjacent systems. This is a big invasion site. Plenty of Trig BS. And you are missing it. Plus, its location in Forge just adds to speculation that the ultimate target of the invasion is Jita (from a lore perspective)?

Each major site has a trap, based on spawning at around 100 km with a 500 km warp out and almost instant warp back on your head. (The numbers are other peoples; I was too busy getting dead). The minor conduits seem to have “learned” too, and jumping in at 100 km has lost me a venture when I met a fleet already at 50 km that just hit me.

Cant confirm the nature of the ore in the major sites, so I still don’t know if it will be valuable enough but it sure looks like being difficult to get to.

Based on Trig’s speed hit and run tactics like they are doing feels right. It does suck to have to travel far for another invasion, but keep in mind that other people around HS need the content too. The more people that get to experience it, the better chance people will engage with it, which is good for all of us.

Yeah just completed a Major site. Oh my it was terrifying. 3 fleets joined forces to get it down, and there were a lot of Leshaks and Vedmaks. My fleet only had 1 logi so I tried hard not to get aggro but still did and almost died in the process. In the end we completed the site and I didn’t get any bounty because probably there were too many players there. With an organized fleet of 12-15 it can be done. But the buff seems like an overkill, minor conduits are very risky now without logi, they put out quite a lot of DPS too.

Honestly, this is great to hear. They were pretty woefully easy in the last round. Thanks for the update!

Did it despawn / seal properly or are the black hole just sitting there?

Would that track better than 1 grappler and 2 webs?

Could you post your build? I was running the scattered mini fleets in a perimeter system in a Golem and enjoying it, but my heart is really with my old mission Kronos. Just trying to make sure the addition of 2 Faction/dead space webbifiers does not open up a vulnability that my “habit or usual use” makes fatal.

Would be great if all invasions had the new sites to try. 2 of 3 had not today. Minor Conduits still can be soloed, but you will never be solo … lol. Spawn rate is much too low to make that something viable.

Zoryas spawning now regularly, so all event-proven players know what to do. :stuck_out_tongue:

Politely watch as people salvage their own loot?

XD

I actually do that. Part of my emerging game play. If a rattle is on its own, and salvaging as it goes, I just sit and mine and leave them to it. But, if a cormorant or worse a noctis turns up then it is game on. (Or at least, it was; not sure I can survive moving around even the minors now.)

I dont know much about webs and how they stack. I’m sure a grappler would work, but I have yet to try it. They do have less optimal range. Not sure what the drop off if any is between optimal and falloff. I only tested my current fit on a few groups. I’m sure it will need tweaking as I get more experience with this style of combat.

Hehe you’re a better person than I. My job is to attain as much loot as possible for my fleet. If a wreck is in range, it’s getting processed just like any other. I very very very look forward to yellow salvage causing suspect (if CCP cares) , but until then my fleet’s payout is all that matters to me.

Thank you for the fit. Only problem I found was that without a dedicated ship based salvager the ninjas just reduced my income too much. Salvage drones were tried and useful when between waves, but seemed to be a favorite treat for the Triglavians if launched during combat. Wonder if I can ditch the probe launcher and just make due with “scavenging” lower tier fleets scattered around the system? Found the nearest Invasion location moved to twice as far away as before and seemingly filled with a different “class” of people🤐…putting it on hold for now.

I have only lost one salvage drone. I wait till I have solid aggro and most if not all targets locked. Kill a few then launch salvage drones. If a new wave comes in pull in drones and repeat process.

I personally like the scanner as a BS is slow to get around. At that point it’s really personal preference though. I would have tractor beam and salvager if I had the CPU. I may tinker with my fit to add it.

if distance> optimal, mult = 0.5^(distance-optimal / falloff)²
if you are at distance = optimal+falloff/2, then you grapple for exactly half the grappler strength

if you add a fed web on a vindi, it’s 90% from 0 to 14km, so always above grappler until 14km.

webs and grapplers stack the same way.

highest web/grappler i 100% (so 90% webbed => *10 to tracking)
second is 87% (so 78.3% webbed=> *4.6 tracking => total *46 tracking)
third is 57% ie 51.39% webbed => *±2 => total *94.8 tracking.

Thanks! So for this thread a grappler indeed would be helpful. the smaller trig ships orbit arould 5 to 6000m. Depending what grappler you use it should be more effective then a fed web. Also the trig cruisers orbit at 15km, out of range of most webs depending on ship used or overheat. So the grappler would slow them down a bit adding some improvement to damage application.

Been using a Vargur with 2 T2 webs and 1 grappler. Grappler reaches the 15k stuff and works out to 31k.

All 3 on the frigs and kikis.

I was just wondering if I could increase the tracking beyond this setup using some other 3 slot configuration?

Also running 3 T2 salvagers to thwart salvage scum.

A grappler is almost always better than a web on a normal BS ; a web is almost always better than a grappler on vindi.

On a non-serp ship the 3rd web/grappler is reduced to 57% eff, so 34% webbed; ie a tracking increase of (100/(100-60*0.47)=) +52%. it’s still better than a scripted tracking computer which gives 30(T2)-35(faction)% tracking.

Also yes, a grappler allows to catch something out of web range, when you can activate eg mwd to burn to it .I was using that vs the drifter event to catch BS(those you needed to probe down) in a vindi . The key is to keep at range 4k so that the target try to get away, so you can align it good. basically you can kill it fast before getting into 4km range (below 4km you will start killing your own tracking)
