That’s the issue.
Since you can’t tractor in yellow wrecks with an MTU, abandoning all wrecks in a site is basically the only way to be nice to some new player who just want to salvage. Of course he can loot the wrecks too then, but if you don’t want to have the loot anyway, why not give a noob some income? If it was up to me, all wrecks would be auto-abandoned once the “owner” warps off the grid anyway.

I hate how paranoia has hurt the human spirit in EVE.
Some people are so overly paranoid of scammers, gankers, and everything in between. They let these people define how they play this game and it kills creativity as it sets into leadership’s heads.
My advice? Don’t let the scum of EVE determine what you want to do. It’s a mental war and don’t let those types of people win. You can be social and outgoing and still stay vigilant vs scammers/gankers on a day-to-day basis.
I have firsthand experiences with people so paranoid and scared of death (in the pure PVE world) it makes me sick tbh.

It is not paranoia if it is true
It’s generally a result of not understanding the game mechanics that could affect them (simply because in all their years of playing they could not be bothered to “invest” 20 minutes of their time to look things up or ask around) so instead they’ll just stick to boogieman stories and act accordingly.

I didn’t claim if something was true or false.
It’s the paranoia that the ganker boogyman (borrowed from Aisha’s comment above) will get you despite system X being quiet for months.
It’s the paranoia that when someone mails you or opens a convo that a person defaults to a scammer.

Always assume they are trying to kill you.
This is why I keep gifting the Yellow Space Suit every christmas so that the boogeyman isn’t so scary!

Yellow symbolizes decay, physical rot, moral rot, suffering, illness (both physical and mental), anxiety, and caution whilst also being the color of color of wisdom, knowledge, sickness, insecurity, obsession, idealization, naivety, cowardice and deceit.
It is also Frosty’s favourite color.
Notice how he never asked me what my favourite color is.
