The “Simple Asteroid Mining Crystal” (Of variance A, B or C). I absolutely do not mine materials and yet that’s fairly straight forward. I would say that a newcomer to eve online may struggle with the vast array and types of crystals.

This is what happens when you turn new players into mining sheep out the gate instead of teaching them what pvp is 1st.
Can’t blame CCP for suckering out someone’s CC for that as that’s just how it is.
Luckily a newcomer to eve online doesn’t need to bother with crystals while mining!
Crystals are something for players who have specialized in mining and are able to use T2 equipment. Surely those players have spent some time researching their favourite activity on the side while mining ore, or have heard from other miners what equipment to use and when.

This. New players use T1 Miners that work entirely without crystals. Only if he chose to become a professional miner, he needs to bother with the special equipment and crystals for different purposes.
In fact, new players don’t even need to mine!

And they can always upgrade to ORE Miners, that will greatly increase the profits and saves them all the hassle with crystals!

Just be sure to buy a mining permit to ensure mining safety regulations are upheld. It would be terrible if due to neglect a mining accident would happen.

Eve isn’t ‘too complicated’. The complexity of the game is ultimately one of the best weapons anyone can use.

Even if EVE is ‘too complex’, it won’t be for long, as windows 11 is out windows 10 is reaching EOL, with win11’s menu system, players will say the Photon UI has no bugs and only ‘intended features’
