Players who have not enough ISK or they need PLEX for the items from store or activities that need PLEX initially like HyperGambling, also HyperGambling can induce loss of ISK with gamblers, so they would need PLEX to finance their gambling further.
People not doing enough PvE or trading will suffer financially when they simultanously would like to PvP or indulge in other risky behaviors. Thats where CCP walks in and says “-10% on all PLEX offers!”.

Yup, waiting to buy the PLEX voucher on Bitrefill or somewhere I can spend crypto.
I won’t use a CC due to counterparty risk of overcharging, misscharging and then fight disputes.
I don’t see CCP doing that anytime soon.
They sell packs on Steam, they can sell vouchers in any voucher outlet, in fact that is how one bought Eve game time codes (GTC’s) in the past.
It’s not a new thing, just sell VOUCHERS, like GTC’s they used to, any store can sell the voucher packs.

That’s up to the retailer and store, they decide how they want paid. CCP gets their money in their bank, they don’t care and we get our voucher code to redeem in Eve.
Bitrefill accepts crypto, let them sell vouchers, it’s their problem.
If we can buy PLEX via Steam, we can already get Steam vouchers via Bitrefill. Just do it directly for non Steam customers so they can buy PLEX vouchers on Bitrefill. Bitrefill is just an agent for selling vouchers.
So you’re the one giving all your money to CCP. Stop it, you’re not doing the game any good. Until people like you stop rewarding CCP for their laziness by buying PLEX all we’ll have will be microtransactions, nefs and no real content.

EVE Online income based on subscription by default from the beginning just recently they added a unilimited trial(in past it was a 2 week trial only) that they are marketing as F2P for some reason.

Yeah you’re right, my OP wording wasn’t the best on that. ‘Making’ and ‘cajoling’ being the difference I guess.
But I think it’s clear enough that they see putting a crunch on people as a viable business strategy, and I’d guess that it works well enough for them. That means we can expect more of it in future, and that they’ll be more dramatic.
Someone made a great point in the patch notes thread - CCP have clearly got a long term aim that everyone should be making micro-transactions of some kind each month. It may seem improbable now, but they can arbitrarily introduce something into the game for almost every person to need to pay for if they choose. Right now it’s more subtle - put a squeeze on people and see more revenue - but in the long run, I think it’ll get more overt in terms of paying for modules/ships etc - RSI style.

Yeah Im with you. The wierd thing is, does CCP do no market research? Do they not see how the more successful games have a two tier system that breaks the game into those who have the time to not need to MT and those who want the speed?
People complained EvE would turn into WoT under MT, but frankly, WoT is a far superior system for it, and you DONT need to MT to play and have a great game and a huge tank collection.
