Is high sec mining nearly dead

lol true never going to win this fight its all rather pointless either go low sec or shut up i get it lol . its like a chat with the pointless then

youre not crying  i see

btw … this Thread is not about mining ! its about → you cant build pointless ships anymore ! and industry has nothing to do with mining !

No, they don’t. I just built myself a Rupture and I got every mineral I need from hi-sec rocks. Ytirium is the best source of isogen and can be found in 0.5 ore anomalies.

mining is part of industry and T1 ship building if you never mined it your only option is to buy it then.

thats part of the best deal what you could do

simple question → how much is your ore what you mined ?

Vuhdo Rin try making a valid point instead of looking for a fight because id rather waste my time smashing my head against the wall lol

I do alot of veldspar mining compressed it pays fairly ok not bad

then why youre crying about LS minerals if you get a good payout of your HS minerals ?

it has a reason why CCP changed Mining so nobody can build a ship just because he lives in space where everything is available !

ok because there is no point in making T1 things in genral just sell compress veldspar whats the point in training up many industrial skills then how would you like to reply smart guy

you just dont see a point in making T1 things  but if you wanna have profit then you would do all you can to look where you can do profit. instead you are being lazy and sell your ore ( which is ok ) but then you came to forum and cry about your lazyness

your missing the point mr low sec bad standings guy lol

you never understand my point xD

it is not all about the isk i make plenty thanks. its about mining and production of t1 items in high sec the lack of profit due to super silly prices on isogen and that it feels a shame your better off just selling the ore than to make things.

but isnt everyone tied to the prices? so nobody get an edvanteg of cheaper isogen becaus ethe building cost will drop and the item prices drop aswell so now you got a cheaper isogen but you still cant build profitable because you dont want to check what your possibilitys are

and now your coming up to this forum and start crying about lazyness ( i know its a repeat … but sill correct )

if you want to be profitable YOU need to change something ! and as you said, you changed something and thats ok but why do you come up here and wanna explain your not able to to it … oO

when you say something worth it ill talk to you but at the moment your not worth the time.

you still dont see that you are the problem of your problem ? oO
crazy sheet … xD

but ok  still do your stuff and dont get better

I just want to put this out there since there’s been a lot of mentioning of low sec being so “risky” for mining. This is coming from the perspective of someone who is a LS pirate, and who regularly kills miners because they make it too easy, so some tips to avoid a cruel death by someone like me, and getting to bring that sweet isogen back to HS.

  • use a venture, fit a warp core stabilizer, and a pair of medium shield extenders, and armor/shield buffing rigs. You will be very hard to “hold” since you will have 4 warp core strength, so unless someone has 3 regular scrams, or a regular and a faction scram (or friends) you can just align and leave. And the shield extenders + rigs will give you the ehp to survive a volley or 2 while you align out to GTFO.

  • Don’t mine in “gateway” systems, the first jump into low from high is almost always the most populated, if you check my killboard you will see that almost all of my miner kills are in these systems (I live in Amarr space, so it’s usually Kheram, or Ami) if you go a few jumps deeper into low you will find that most systems have almost no one, and some are quite large with belts far from all the gates, they will make it very easy to dock, or get to a safe when someone you don’t know comes into local.

  • Pay attention, and never go AFK. Situational awareness will take you a long way, the other day I was killing a mining venture while another venture landed ~25km away from me. I killed the first venture, and his pod and was still able to get in range of the second venture, and kill him and his pod dispite him having 15+ seconds heads up, and me being a bright red evil flashy guy on grid with him.

Or you can always just buy iso off the market from the miners I haven’t managed to kill ;^)

Nope, use a hulk fleet + porp. You mine faster, in huge ammounts, and you can just dock in any NPC station to release the cargo (compressed ofc).

You mine so fast that you can even control the local channel without dying out of boredom. Thats how real lowsec mining is done.

Wait until the next WH heading to HS to move cargo.

Profit the 0 risk, and brain-dead effort from lowsec mining.

Hah, yeah that’s very true, I’ve seen my fair share of boosted hulk fleets, and i leave them be, since as a solo pilot if they drop drones I’ll be dead in a heartbeat. I was more aiming the venture advice to newbies (even though IMO mining is a terrible profession for new players).

I am a noob. Less than one year old. I spend my time mining, mainly isogen ore (plus some nocxium) for sale, and am very happy to see these high prices.

This is not correct. I am also a carebear and so only operate in high sec. There is as @Mephiztopheleze says a huge opportunity here. You are just not listening to what some people are trying to tell you. Both isogen and nocxium were re-introduced into high sec around 2022/ 23.

If you look at the price graph that @Dyver_Phycad posted for isogen, the price drop started around June 2023. This coincides with the time that CCP also heavily buffed the volume of isogen that was available in high sec. That was also when I started mining it. The best bit is that the ORE price has not really dropped by anything like as much since then.

As far as I can tell, mining isogen ore in high sec is the most profitable of all the available ores OR ice in that region, bar none. And, as @New_Order_Enforcer says, the most proitable way to do it is porpoise + hulks, just do not use an orca (too slow), and you do not need to go into low sec either.

Getting the popcorn.
