Oh so you do mine AFK. Not entirely of course, but semi-AFK. But then my point applies. You like mining because you do something else and you don’t have to actually play it and still earn stuff. You don’t play it actively, because frankly, there is no input required while mining unlike for example exploration or security missions.
I am not antiminer. If you want to mine, go mine. But stop pretending it is good activity or it is fun. Because it isn’t and those who claim otherwise are claiming it because they enjoy the fact it is 0-input activity where they can (semi)AFK and massively multibox. The responses here just proved this - even so called “solo miner not doing it for profit” turned to be a multiboxer. Whether you semi-AFK multibox another EVE clients or other games doesn’t matter - is the same thing.
Anyway I mistaken you with the other guy, so the previous reply to you is off. Still I asked another player something, and you replied to that question and instead of answering it yourself, you attacked me. Maybe you can tell me how is that called? 
Well not pretending but it can be fun, though it is the same fun as cleaning up ones own room. It is not the frenetic fun mma fighters have in an arena that is indeed the case. I for one can enjoy both and see both as fun.
As I follow a personal “if it brings cash to ccp then it is acceptable” I do see no problem with multiboxed barge fleets as each of those accounts earn ccp money which flows into keeping eve capitalistic alive. If you have a different philosophy that is okay with me.
A rude remark but there is a nice word in german “pöbeln” and it is quite the hobby in fraternities to find someone to duel and see who is better at fencing or can drink more.

Mining doesn’t bother me. Miners lying to themselves or to others that mining is great and fun does. Because it is largely thanks to them, that mining is what it is and why it was never improved.

Just reading the forum I’d say that 90% of EvE players are paranoid-schizophrenics. The other ten percent? Miners

What about the frequent commentators that claim that other players are all just useless miners because he’s doing greater then ever in eve, while on the other section, bragging not to have even installed the game for 15 years now and not going to change that until CCP does something about his lack of content?

High sec mining will never die, if only because of supply and demand.
If not enough people are gathering x thing, the price of x thing will spike, it will become more valuable to gather x thing, more players will gather x thing, and the price will come down again, rinse and repeat.
It sure could be more profitable, but I gues if its that hard to make a profit on some of these materials, I’m assuming loads of people are still doing it.
HISec mining is alive and well. For beginners, you don’t make much so include missions to build up your ISK. Work up to barges and get into a fleet with boost\compression.
The profit for HiSec is much less than other spaces but it’s minimal threat so that’s ok. I mostly do ore, not ice, as I find the value better. I mine to sell not build since building in HiSec seems not profitable, at least for me.
Ganking is still a thing, so the same security hygiene is needed with Local etc.
For a seasoned miner in HiSec, I mine about 500k/54 seconds with a barge and max boost from the Orca. I enjoy HiSec mining for a calm evening of work. In 1 1/2 hours with two barges and an orca I mine about 100 million ISK, clearing out two roid fields.
My three alt corp has about 20b ISK in value with 13b ISK and the rest in ships, equipment, etc.
