Sure I’m not the most prolific ganker, but I’ve done more than just F1 monkey on one gank years ago, much more.

For a lot of people though that is all they are doing - F1 monkey in a swarm of gankers…

There is a lot you aren’t up to date on. Such as who is doing the ganking and where. There aren’t really these hordes of faceless alts ganking. Its the same people bro. Literally.

Not to mention the ganking hot spots. It isn’t just Uedama. Although the other ones are less. Hell, a new one just kinda popped up in the past month and its one dude with his multi box lol. They aren’t faceless tho, its the same dude all the time. With the same alts.

I never claimed it was just Uedama neither did I claim there are hordes of faceless gank alts, etc. etc. you are picking specific snippets out of my posts and misrepresenting them with some additions of your own.

That is not all that it takes. You need to find your quarry first. If you’re mining, you should be watching local and d-scan always. You should be pre-aligned to a safe. You should fit a tank, even at the expense of mining yield cause yield means nothing if you’re dead.

You know what kinda tank you can fit on a proc/skiff and not even impact yield that much? There are a plethora of tools available to avoid le gank. It isn’t my fault you don’t use them.

Bear in mind, I am not a high sec ganker nor does that lifestyle appeal to me. I have nothing against it howvever. The frontline is everywhere. Get used to it.

In my experience, there is no such thing as a gank survivor. There are poorly executed ganks.

Still, the point is, it would be cool if there was a counter, something with a surprise factor in it. Let me know if you find something wrong with that.

I just said people don’t know the real life truth, but in fact have real life misconceptions that are hard to fix. Therefore, I don’t want real life applied to this. What I want is the in-game truth applied. Concord Response Time has no real life equivalent. Its YOU trying to apply real life to this.

The only reason I make real life comparisons is because they tend to make sense to people better than some made-up fantasy thing. But in this case neither the real life reality nor misconception fit well to the EVE situation, so its better to go with the game reality.

I played the game for around 6 years, with multiple characters, doing a bit of pretty much everything in the game aside from FW. You tend to pickup a fair bit over time even just occasionally carrying out activities now and again by being both in and around things which are happening.

I’ve never claimed to be an expert but I have been involved in dozens of ganks during that time.

Rroff was not the principle character I used in high sec as it was mostly used for wormhole and later capital activities - but there is enough on that character to see I’m not talking without at least some experience.

There is a counter. So many counters. People have listed many in this thread. Scroll up. Read. Learn. You know what the surprise factor is? When peeps actually fit a tank and use tactics evade the gank. It definitely suprises them.

It is something which does happen - as before I was talking about there being a range of how ganking happens and addressing the broad picture of ganking - it might not have as high profile on the killboard at a superficial glance as these organised entities but it certainly is there and happening.

Fitting a tank helps… but only so far - if you run a route regularly you might have an idea as to the most common likely gank encounters and how much damage they can do but again that is just one piece of the whole story of ganking.

When we were ganking PVE ships we’d either just go for overkill or EFT the likely fit and character stats or a bit of both and no amount of tank would save you.

It is happening on an extremely small scale if that as solo ganking in HS isn’t really feasible at all anymore. Which you’d know if you still played.

Hell, the venture changes alone make it almost impossible to gank them solo unless they are dumb or AFK.

Most gankers realize they need help and then fleet up to get more phat lewts and targets.

Again, there is not a broad spectrum of ganking. There are is a large spectrum of hi sec ganking tactics.

Hi Sec Ganking = Killed in high security 0.5-1.0 space
Low/Null/WH = PvP

I have never once claimed low, WH and null to be ganking. All my comments have been about high sec and the balance there. After 6 years of playing I do kind of know the difference. Again you’ve snippeted some comment I’ve made and put your own meaning on it.
