Is Hisec ganking good for the game?

No I didn’t - I just pointed to one example that there is a wide range going on - Astero losses add up with other stuff. For someone who bangs on about it your reading comprehension sucks.

That will help but for every ganker corp there are probably a dozen other corps who might just “gank on a Tuesday” so to speak who in combination are another potential threat you are less likely to see coming.

Like I said before one of the corps I was in just kept half an eye on the main PVE hubs around Osmon, etc. (can’t remember the specifics now) and would snag high value kills now and again - alone we were a small story when it comes to ganking but we weren’t the only people who functioned like that making for a bigger consideration in total.

You used it as an example of rampant ganking. Disproven. Take your L LOL.

There aren’t anymore. Thats the thing. Its very easy to find all of the active gankers. Are there random acts of violence dudes? Yea. But not in the quantity you are describing.

Again, “when I played”. You don’t anymore. You are literally calling for game changing implementation in a game you no longer play and a game where you don’t have the most current frame of reference.

On average I play EVE daily 5-6 hours. For the past 3 months since coming back. I definitely believe I am keyed more into the meta than you. You looking at zkills to figure things out. I’m actually in the game.

You’ve badly misread what I’ve said somewhere. I’m just gonna leave it at that.

Ok, so the security classifications actually don’t refer to security in the asteroid belt. These refer to the security of the planets and space stations, which are patrolled by armed guards with submachine guns. Obviously, security is relatively lax out in the middle of nowhere, literally millions of kilometres from the nearest security guard. Think of the Highsec system as a modern airport, with all the security, and cameras, and armed guards. However, if you get away from all the people, you’ll notice that nobody is around and there are indeed a lot of crimes committed in airports.

LOL I haven’t bro. Just been blowing up your points left and right as you completely dodge the other ones faster than a nano claw.

Pro tip: You lost as soon as you said “when I played”. Everything else after? Just gravy bro.

Keep telling yourself that.

You don’t play EVE, so you can’t expect people who play EVE to show much interest or respect for your ideas about the game you don’t play.

Well they certainly show plenty of interest…

I think that’s disdain you are encountering.

The question is the motivation for that and it certainly isn’t bred purely out of the fact I don’t play the game any more or they wouldn’t be so bothered by what I say.

On that point - closest I ever came to being ganked - IIRC landed on a gate with my Prowler and “traffic control” by the time I could get clear a single tornado had put me in half shields - fortunately I fitted my Prowlers to survive a single tornado. If he’d had friends it would have been another matter.

So he lost his ship to a failed gank.

Hilarious!
Yep, there is a way, sarcasm is not it… specially when the higher ground is incompetent, of course.
Not even guarded, not even with backup. An effective gank just needs decission and gunpowder. Everything that fails with such advantage is just…

You “know” this to be true. Me too, I’ve seen ganks fail and it’s funny how some people can read the remaining hull ignoring the reason why the gank failed on the first place.

I agree. Some folks just fly stupid and deserve the pun.
I just think that it would be cool if there was a counter as effective as a well executed gank attempt.

Yes he can. Loads of vets have valuable information and good ideas. I would not be surprised to learn some of the devs don’t actually play either.

While I am not surprised that you would shoot the messenger, I just hope that a fair number of people are smart enough to see how useless that is.

Sorry, but people who don’t play the game can’t have an informed opinion about game balance. You are just throwing out opinions without relevant experience.

Reminds me of a presentation on capital ship changes where 2 of the devs plainly, to anyone who’d actually spent time in the game using them, had no actual experience of them while another dev, think it was Fozzie, was standing there visibly wincing whenever they tripped up or misused common capital ship concepts or terminology, etc.

It was a good part of what motivated me to quit when people who plainly had no experience of the ships were telling me, as a frequent user, what I “actually” wanted to use them for and how… but I’m not so small minded as to say they didn’t have anything useful to say at all.

So you can understand how we feel listening to you theorycraft about ganking.

There might be some aspects I’m not up to date on but I have mostly acknowledged those points - I’m not coming into this with zero experience of what I’m talking about.

In fact kind of funny the way some people post in this thread about the game as if some things are new - many things just go around a revolving circle what was once old is new again, etc.

You know, its amazing to me that people who play or played a game with such a steep learning curve, chock full of misused, confusing terms, requiring graphs and heavy reading to play appropriately, balk and brainfart so hard about simply changing something like 0.5 to CRT 19, where one gives no inherent useful information but the other does.

So hundreds to thousands of people die in Maximum security prisons die violent deaths every day and the inmates purchase guns and knives at the prison store? 15 minutes after a murder the guards go back into coffee and donuts mode? I don’t think so. Also I don’t think most people truly understand the real meaning of high or maximum security anyway, but rather have misconceptions, but fact is neither the true meaning nor common misconception apply well to EVE use. That means its oddball.

And I never said high or maximum security meant “perfect” so stop acting like I did.

No. Why in blazes would TWO labels be necessary? Of course that’s redundant.

Whatever uses current security levels are put to, PI, bounties, whatever, its all based on Concord response times.

The current system only has an illusion of clarity.

What bothers me is you are suggesting game changes that will impact a game I actually play, while you do not. Your opinion means nill if you aren’t actually a player. What I find funny is you are haunting a forum non-stop of a game you no longer play.

That is not all that it takes. You need to find your quarry first. If you’re mining, you should be watching local and d-scan always. You should be pre-aligned to a safe. You should fit a tank, even at the expense of mining yield cause yield means nothing if you’re dead.

You know what kinda tank you can fit on a proc/skiff and not even impact yield that much? There are a plethora of tools available to avoid le gank. It isn’t my fault you don’t use them.

Bear in mind, I am not a high sec ganker nor does that lifestyle appeal to me. I have nothing against it howvever. The frontline is everywhere. Get used to it.
