Is it all about pvp?

PvP and PvE are not the same, but in EVE due to rules/mechanics, PvP permeates into PvE, if another player chooses to do so.

To boil it down, PvE is not PvP exclusive in EVE, as it may be in other games, but that does not make PvE and PvP the same in EVE or overall as concepts.

The notions that mining a space rock, alone, is PvP, or that players that left the game 10yrs ago are still PvPing in EVE, are absurd and false.

Why is this important to you? What do you need a billion isk for if your goal is PVE? Especially since you fly mostly frigates and cruisers (and like to mine it seems). Rich is EvE simple means you can afford the ships you want to fly. If your goal is capitals, then I suggest planning ahead and setting smaller goals to start with. Try to enjoy the trip rather than always looking at the destination. You’ve been in Goon and PL, so anyone telling him to go to Delve is ignoring the fact that he’s already been there.

Set a goal for yourself that’s achievable. End your gaming session with more isk than you started. If that’s too hard, then make the goal, have more isk at the end of the week, than at the beginning.

Here’s an example of the failure of the Rubicon plan. The OP ran out to null because of the immense wealth out there, but never really learned how to play EvE. Obviously, your time in PL and Goon, haven’t taught you either.

EvE is about PvP, plain and simple. Whether you do it by shooting, mining, selling, ratting, exploring, anything, you are competing against other players for wealth. To ask for a PvE only server, is basically asking to not play EvE. If you like this game, you have to accept that you are always competing against other players. What you need is to learn how to compete, and control that environment. Right now SOV null is involved with a rather large war. If you don’t have the time/inclination to be part of that - leave. There are (still) some corps left that will take you under their wing and teach you how to play EvE. You need to find them. Make friends, do things together, there’s many things you can do in EvE to earn isk that are actually fun too. If you want to play EvE casually, believe me, you can.

Shhhh. Dont tell them.

You just need to be careful when doing pve and no one can touch you plus you have a large alliance and it’s jump bridge network and Intel to help you.
Awareness of your surroundings is huge in EVE si is knowledge I’d advise you to stick around some older players chat alot become friends and absorb info they give you.
I’ve done pve almost anywhere in EVE in everything from t1 frigs to supers and never been caught

no…

Yes yes…Remember OP…everything is PvP. Even logging off to go take a dump is PvP because while your taking a dump you are denying other players PvP…which is also a form of PvP. So, After a long day of work (PvP) come home and eat dinner (PvP), spend time with family (PvP), get a shower (PvP), maybe watch some TV (PvP) and then log on and play. No mater what you do your PvPing. And to all the players who just rolled your eyes at my comment…you just PvPed.

EVE

The only game ever you still PvP in while bio-break, left 10yrs ago, or flat out died.

Apparently the >6 bil humans on Earth, including babies, and all past, present, future generations are involved in EVE PvP.

But thats ok, cos stones cant PvP!
(Or can they…?!)

do you agree that competing on the market is pvp

Yes, ofc.
It involves other players.

Stones are like ships in EVE: Not a weapon until used by humans for that purpose. In that sense, stones can very well PVP, just not voluntarily.

Its the human using the stone to PvP.
The stone/ship is just a device used in PvP.

It cannot participate in PvP, without a player using it for that purpose.

The stone does not tell the human not to use it as a weapon. Just like a ship in EVE does not tell the user not to use it as a weapon. Guilty and active in the act by association. As said, it involuntarily participates in PVP. Oh, and ore in EVE is also rock, and that is traded on the market, mined and used to build weapons. Lots of PVP with those rocks as well.

so lets make a hypothetical example

lets say small antimatter charges are 20isk each on sell orders
and 15isk each on buy orders

i buy all antimatter charges under 30isk and place a buy order for 10bn units of antimatter at 30 isk per unit for 3 months in jita
this means if anyone else wants to place a buy order for antimatter they will have to outbid my buy order and pay over double they previously were

as you agree this is pvp
pvp which still affects people until the buy order is fulfilled or 3 months have passed
not including the extra buy orders other people have placed to outbid me

it will take months for the market to recover
maybe years
maybe never

i can place that buy order and never log into the game again
yet my buy order is still affecting the market
still screwing up that part of the economy
and i will still be pvping months or years later even though i never logged in again

so please quit with the pedantic arguments and patronising comments

It has no volition.

You are the one taking this to pedantic, and utterly absurd, false, extremes.

You mistake me correcting you, with patronisation.

cool so you have no argument
in fact i dont think youve had a single argument in this entire thread
youre just here to troll

this is patronising
i didnt want to even continue the discussion but this comment made me want to prove you entirely wrong
which i just did
so this argument is over

That is demonstrably, utterly false.
Ive presented many arguments.

But, here is an argument presented as a question:

Is Genghis Khan, whom died centuries ago, involved in EVE PvP?

Am I, as not logged into EVE atm, involved in PvP ingame?

pvp is a metaphysical concept applied to video games
perhaps you are having difficulties distinguishing fantasy from reality
and i am partly to blame for that for humouring your hypothetical and weird questions earlier in the thread
i now realise i was in error to engage you at that point

Funny that.

Seems to me, that is exactly what you are having, not I.

You do realise that EVE is a self-contained virtual environment that people, past present and future, may or may not engage in, right?

Do you think me creating sculptures on this hilltop constitutes PvP in EVE?
